Grateful to have gotten into some great programs! I would like to pivot from consulting to a career in product strategy/marketing at a tech or media company. I’m trying to decide which program would best support me with this pivot while providing a strong network. I am able to make any program work from a financial standpoint.

Chicago is in the tier ahead of your other options, but that would be a very different experience than Tuck, for example, so fit will matter, too? (2)

However, if working for a tech company would be the same for you, Booth would give you a great set of resources, both in the short and long term. (2)

Booth seems to be a great option but my only concern is the support I’d get with trying to switch into media/tech vs a more traditional field. (1)

anon45443 Likes Earned: 4 I think at this point I've narrowed it down to Booth vs. UCLA. Booth provides a great flexible curriculum, potentially a better community (students live nearby), and structured OCR for big tech (hopefully with the Booth name and some additional networking I can have a shot at some of the media companies I'm interested in as well). UCLA has the added benefit of scholarship and Consortium membership in addition to more internship opportunities in the tech/media fields during the year to bridge the gap as well as a more present LA network. However, it doesn't have the same prestige as Booth and students seem to live pretty spread out from each other. I'm not sure if being at a school that has larger % entering tech/entertainment will make it more competitive, and maybe applying as a Boothie on the west coast would help me stick out more. Any input is appreciated! Thanks for the responses so far. (1)

anon17067 Likes Earned: 17 If this were me, I would also be looking at Booth vs Anderson. I think they both pose pros/cons based on your goals. Booth will have more prestige, which may help since product recruiting is competitive, as you said and you may "stick out" (in a good way) applying to tech positions on the west coast. That being said, Anderson will have a larger west coast network and has strong tech recruiting (do tech companies recruit at OP? something to consider). As for community, I think though Anderson students live further apart, you will have the benefit of Consortium membership, which will put you in a tight knit community from the start. I would probably go Booth if I were you, but it is a tough call and I'm sure you'd do well at either! (3)
