I’m a Canadian of African descent. I now live and work in NYC at a Japanese bank. I have offers from Ross and Tepper for OMBA. My goal post mba is to work in Treasury and Finance but on the buy side (I.e Bain Capital, KKR or Citadel).

I’m torn between the offers and I’m hoping to get insights from the community to make this decision.

eliot Verified User. Likes Earned: 1857 Congrats on your acceptances to Tepper, ross and Owen. To clarify, is your intention to keep working full time while attending a online MBA program? Or will you be leaving your job to attend business school full time? In addition, what is your current role at the Japanese bank? For example, are you already working in the treasury department? I am trying to understand how big of a career switch you are contemplating. Another question - do you have a sense of buy side treasury job placement from these three MBA programs at your target firms? (1)

moe124 Likes Earned: 3 Eliot, my preference is to continue working full time. Owen would be my choice if I have to go back full time. Yes, I work in Corporate Treasury as a mid level manager. I also spent time in graduate treasury rotational program. I don’t have a sense, it was hard to track down in the reports. I general I know but side firms target these schools. (2)

Likes Earned: 1857 Moe124 - Thanks for confirming that you would prefer to attend an online MBA program so that you can continue to work full time while attending business school. Thanks also for confirming that you already work in a treasury role. This will make it easier to transition to a treasury role on the buy side. Both Ross and Tepper are very solid MBA programs and they both have highly ranked online MBA programs that can help you gain the skills and network to facilitate your career transition. You really can't go wrong with either option. Thus, I think your decision comes down to cost and personal brand preference. Would you prefer Ross or Tepper? (1)
