Notes:

Just recently got into all of these MBA programs as well as UC Davis's MBA program. I am primarily basing my decision on what would be the best for my career. Working on a start-up in the healthcare space. UCI/UCD may make sense due to the network I could build in the state I live in, but other schools like WashU/JHU/Rice have more prestige/brand.

mickflair Likes Earned: 1 Yes, I am planning on living in California for the long-term and standing up my business here. No scholarships to consider for any of them. Just unsure if I should do a local school like UCI/UCD for the network I can build where I plan to live, or do I choose a more prestigious school like WashU, Rice, or even Johns Hopkins for the business school and/or parent school reputation/brand. I’d imagine better professors at those big schools too, so I can learn more as a whole. But Irvine must have decent faculty too, so I’m very unsure on what to do. (1)

eliot Verified User. Likes Earned: 1857 Congrats on your acceptances. This is an interesting geographic preference vs ranking tradeoff. Given your desire to stay and work in California long term, a good case can be made that either UCI or UC Davis would provide you with the best local networks. To help you decide, I suggest that you do some due diligence. For UCI and UC Davis, learn more about the career placement opportunities in your target career. For Olin, Jones and Carey, you should learn more about their network in California in your chosen career. (1)
