Notes:

Waitlisted at Columbia. GI bill mostly covers Tuck tuition and more than covers Darden and McCombs (scholarship $ on top of GI bill). Post-MBA goal is most likely consulting, but I haven't ruled out finance or an LDP. Tuck and Darden are probably stronger academically but lifestyle is more attractive in Austin. No geo-preference post-MBA. Thoughts?

eliot Verified User. Likes Earned: 1877 Congrats on your acceptances to Tuck, McCombs ($50k) and Darden ($82k). Given your GI bill does this mean that you would pocket the $50k from McCombs? Basically, your decision depends on what you most value. Tuck and Darden are both top ranked programs and would provide you with better MBB consulting options than McCombs. On the other hand, McCombs is a solid MBA program and McCombs is giving you a full ride plus $50k. Geographically, Tuck and Darden would likely steer you towards a job on the East Coast while McCombs would more likely help you land a job in Texas. (0)

eliot Verified User. Likes Earned: 1877 Alex - if I understand correctly, the applicant is listing the scholarship dollars offered by each school. In addition, the applicant also gets the full tuition covered by the GI bill. Meaning the GI bill essentially offers a full scholarship to any of these programs. But because McCombs is a state university, I believe that the applicant would actually have the potential to receive $50k in cash whereas that would not be the case for the other schools. So, essentially the options are a free ride at Tuck or Darden vs a free ride +$50k cash from McCombs. (1)
