Notes:

The money at Wharton is really hard to turn down, but it feels harder to turn down HBS/GSB. Interested in media & entertainment, but yet to decide if I go for M/E focused consulting/MBB, or go directly into a M/E corporate development job. Any help on deciding between HBS/GSB?

anon11857 Likes Earned: 222 They'll give you similar (if any) financial aid. I say go to Harvard. You can do anything from HBS or GSB or Wharton for that matter, but Harvard is Harvard. (2)

grichmond Verified User. Likes Earned: 1145 Congrats on running the table on the MBA trilogy! The comments above are fair; very few candidates turn down Harvard or Stanford. With that said, Wharton is basically a full-ride, correct? Have you connected with the school's Media and Entertainment Club? My understanding is that this is a lesser-known strength for Wharton (proximity to NYC and all), so you may want to connect with them and see. At the end of the day, you can pretty much do anything you want from any of the three institutions, but graduating totally debt-free from one of them may be worth serious consideration. Best of luck!

anon97226 Likes Earned: 66 Fit is big with HBS vs. GSB. They will provide equal opportunities. Do you want to grind through academics and really grow in the classroom in boot-camp fashion at HBS? I know a lot of people who went to HBS on brand alone and found themselves not enjoying their two years the way they hoped. HBS' style is not for everyone! I could absolutely make an argument to take the full-ride at Wharton. (2)

anon15580 Likes Earned: 25 OP here - thank you all, still shocked with these outcomes! I'm East Coast based/want to end up on the East Coast long term, but have wanted to spend some time in CA. Yes, Wharton is a full scholarship. I got to do a full HBS visit and really liked it. I haven't visited GSB, but fell in love with it via info sessions and talking to a lot of people. It's odd, but I do feel like different sides of my personality could fit well at both GSB and HBS. I think I'll probably just need to keep talking to more people at both schools (especially in M/E clubs) - real bummer that we can't do in person admit weekends this year. (1)

anon67139 Likes Earned: 23 I currently work in and have worked in M&E for a few years. From my experience, HBS tends to have a stronger M&E brand and presence. Beyond my experience, looking at prominent media execs HBS has the edge as well (Chase Carey, Michael Lynton, Mark Pincus, Meg Whitman, etc.) It is certainly hard to turn down GSB but think HBS might be better fit for career goals.
