International applicant. Management consultant (not sponsored) looking to go back into consulting, targeting MBB. Location agnostic. Booth is M7 so I'm swaying towards Booth with no $ but the $100k from Fuqua is tempting. Is a Booth MBA worth me forgoing the $100k worth of Fuqua scholarship?

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1581 It’s a tough call. Booth will provide you best access to MBB, in this case. It would depend on your “risk/debt tolerance” which is different for different candidates. $100k is a big gap, and Fuqua may get you there. Do you have any geographic preferences? (1)

eliot Verified User. Likes Earned: 1857 Congrats on your acceptances and scholarships to five top MBA programs. You mentioned that you are deciding between Booth and Fuqua ($100k). Both are top schools with solid MBB placement. While Booth does have a higher MBB placement, Fuqua has solid MBB career placement as well and the $100k scholarship is substantial. Thus, I would give the overall edge to Fuqua.

anon10646 Likes Earned: 764 As an international, with whatever teens % the international student lenders are currently pricing student loans, I'd be taking Fuqua. You could certainly paydown the loans fairly quickly on an MBB salary, but that is still a lot of forgone opportunity to deploy that $ elsewhere. If H1B visa doesn't work out a consultancy could transfer you to another higher-comp non-US office, but that's an unknown to calculate. As an existing consultant, I'd be confident to bet on yourself to be a quality candidate to place into MBB regardless of being a Booth or Fuqua. (1)
