Notes:

Tough decision. Hoping to transition to consulting post-MBA. Kellogg is obviously stronger in this regard, but hard to overlook the full ride from Ross. Thoughts?

anon13561 Likes Earned: 0 Definitely tough decision. Most people will suggest that you should choose Kellogg given its strong placement in MBB, but Ross also places well in consulting. Ultimately, you need to decide whether you're comfortable in taking on more debt for a better brand. Either way, you're in an enviable position! good luck! (0)

anon93897 Likes Earned: 14 Big decision. I should think Ross should be fine with a full ride. Not sure Kellogg the opportunities Kellogg will give over Ross is worth 125K( and even more if you are taking loan). (0)

anon12901 Likes Earned: 5 Hard choice, but given your goal and the fact that Kellogg actually gave you a little sweetener, Kellogg should win. If you had the option before applying to go to Kellogg for 15k less, I think you'd take it in a second. Unless you loved the community at Ross (by a reallllllly wide margin) over Kellogg, give yourself your absolute best shot with no regrets. (0)

anon84242 Likes Earned: 0 OP here - I should have mentioned that the Kellogg admit is for the 1 year program, which I think gives it a bit less of an advantage for consulting than it otherwise would have. (0)

anon48683 Likes Earned: 0 1 year Kellogg would be tough for career switcher since it offers 1 strike (full time recruiting). What is your pre-mba experience? If you work for T2 consulting and want to upgrade to MBB, 1Y may work just fine. (0)

Apologies for not knowing how that process works or if you specifically targeted the one year. Given your goal I don't know that a 1 year program makes sense...any chance to negotiate with Duke? Otherwise Ross will be solid and money in hand. (0)

anon61310 Likes Earned: 43 I think you have to apply directly to the 1 year program. I would say Kellogg as it will give you the best chance and career brand, also at a reduced cost with the 1 year. If you really want 2 year there was a thread about someone swapping from Kellogg 1Y to 2Y post admitted. (0)

A few thoughts: 1) Don't underestimate the value of having the words 'full scholarship' on your resume when you go out for consulting jobs. 2) Don't underestimate the value of a 2-year MBA experience; you only get once chance to take this kind of time-out...and the summer internship is the best way into the MBB universe. 3) No one would deny that Kellogg, with their historical rankings, MBB track record, and new facilities is an absolutely fantastic place to be. But you need to weigh those factors against the other data points here. Best of luck to you!
