Notes:

Was initially wait listed at Yale and Haas and was set on attending Anderson, but received phone phone calls today from both schools. Haas was my top choice from the outset, but I found Yale equally compelling given my location in New Haven. I'm from CA and hope to make it back there after graduation.

anon12901 Likes Earned: 5 If you hope to make it back to CA after graduation--Haas hands down, unless you got a full ride at UCLA in which case I'd say it's a toss up. Don't think an argument could be made for SOM. (0)

anon13561 Likes Earned: 0 OP: yeah I was pleasantly befuddled by the fact that I was offered scholarship money from both schools (from the damn wait list!!!). For context, I applied via the Consortium and both Haas and Yale knew I was offered the full tuition scholarship from Anderson. The member from Haas I spoke to said they would match my scholarship money from Anderson (although it's not technically a Consortium scholarship since you can only receive that from one school). The individual from Yale said they were over budget funds but wanted to entice me with a partial scholarship. (0)

anon13561 Likes Earned: 0 I did receive the confirmation email + I responded to it. I also took the MBA Math program to show my commitment to boosting my quant skills and I wrote in one update reaffirming my desire to attend Haas (sprinkling in components from their defining principles) (0)

grichmond Verified User. Likes Earned: 1145 Congrats on these offers - very impressive! It is hard to walk away from a full-tuition scholarship at Haas, given your desire to end up in California...and the fact that from a consulting placement standpoint, Haas does very well. Of course, there are those personal factors to consider (your current location, fit with the schools, etc.), but on the surface, it's hard to ignore scholarship numbers here when dealing with schools in the same tier. On another note, it's really amazing to see the amount of waitlist activity AND associated scholarship dollars this season. It's clearly a great time to be a top-tier MBA applicant!
