Notes:

Admitted to Kellogg and waiting on Sloan (post interview), Booth (WL from R2) and LBS. Will hear from Booth and LBS at the end of this week. Of these 4, wanted to get the view of this community on which will provide the best options in financial services roles globally, with recognition and flexibility across markets

grichmond Verified User. Likes Earned: 1145 These are all great programs; and you could easily land in finance from any of the four. Of course, many will say that Chicago has an edge this domain stateside...but LBS, with its London location and excellent finance faculty, has clear appeal for finance roles in Europe and potentially beyond. My question to you is as follows: where do you want to work after business school - both in terms of geography and specific roles in finance. If you can answer these questions (for both short and long-term) you might be able to triangulate in on the best landing place. For instance, some schools may have better placements in specific finance domains than others...and some programs may have more of a global brand/network in specific markets. Congrats on the Kellogg acceptance and good luck with the schools you are waiting on! (2)

anon37829 Likes Earned: 61 Thanks for your detailed response. My work experience is in Asia and the US, and I would be looking at those 2 regions after business school. In terms of finance roles, I worked in banking out of undergrad and would be looking specifically at buy-side roles (PE / Growth Equity). As I'm a US citizen, long term I may look to move back to the US, so would not want to be extremely limited in doing that. I don't have a real sense of the LBS brand outside of London / broader Europe -- is there a strong brand / network in Asia and the US, or is it viewed as being a notch below these US programs? anon97226 Likes Earned: 66 Congrats on the Kellogg admit! If Kellogg is your "only" option, you are still in excellent shape. However, per your goals, I would have to say Booth makes the most sense of the four you have listed from a career goals standpoint. My personal opinion is that LBS doesn't have "M7 weight" in the states, but is still a highly regarded program. (2)

anon10660 Likes Earned: 292 Congratulations! I would put down the deposit at Kellogg which is a phenomenal school and wait to hear back from Sloan and Booth. Personally, I would take Sloan if I were to get into all the programs but you cannot go wrong with either. Booth definitely has a slight edge for finance but the culture at Sloan wins it for me. (1)

anon61015 Likes Earned: 6 All good schools, but I think you'll be better off with an M7 vs. LBS. I also think Brexit is bad for London as a global business hub long term, and therefore bad for LBS. Any of the US schools would be an excellent choice. East Coast location, smaller size, culture, and international reputation of MIT would make Sloan my personal first choice. Between Booth and Kellogg, Booth probably has a slight edge on finance -- but you still can't go wrong with Kellogg. Congratulations! (1)
