My post-MBA goal is to become a Product Manager at a FAANG company. Based on my research, Stern will give me a better chance of achieving my goal, but I'm not sure if it's worth taking in the extra debt if McDonough can help offset the cost. At the same time, it's difficult to quantify the alumni network.

This makes it a tough decision, I’d scrutinise the employment reports, see how accessible these opps are with McDonough, etc. (1)

Either way, would be good to know much we are talking about here. I tend to agree with Alex here, but will add that Georgetown's location near Amazon HQ2 could be a nice perk. (1)

anon79500 Likes Earned: 2 OP: Thanks Alex and Graham! Really love the podcast and can attribute the results above to advice from the podcast. I am choosing between Stern and McDonough due to geographic preferences. For McDonough, I was awarded close to a full ride, which makes this decision for both schools difficult for me. The real question from me is if Stern (full sticker price) is worth overlooking the substantial scholarship awarded to me by McDonough? (1)

This is indeed a very tough call, since a near-free ride from McDonough (a rising stock in the MBA market) is hard to walk away from when faced with full sticker price at NYU (and the cost of living in NYC). At the same time, no one will argue with the fact that NYU Stern is higher ranked than Georgetown and that their placement stats are going to be more favorable. Have you spoken to the career services team at McDonough to get a better sense of their relationship with Amazon HQ2, etc? Might be worth some extra digging to make the best call possible. One final question: what is the brand/ranking like for your undergraduate institution? Could be a factor in the long run...
