Note:

got into Duke and Michigan off the wl. Anyone care to weigh on what they think is the better option? I feel like there's no difference in prestige/employment opps. Did the community feel different?

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 Op's are similar but locations of ops are not. Consider where you want to be after. If west coast, they both place pretty well, michigan has slight edge if you consider the NW/Seattle but that could just be because more people want to go that way (Amazon placements skew that figure too) and not necessarily that Ross places in the West 'better' per se. Midwest obviously UM, south obviously Duke by a long shot. Very few UM grads in the south. Cultures are very similar, weather is not :). UM emphasizes dual degrees much more so IMO in their program and sell weekends for what that's worth. -Also a dual admit (0)

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 From my experiences at both schools, people at Fuqua were more down to earth and sincere, whereas Michigan felt competitive and unfriendly. Also, the weather year round is way nicer in Durham, just saying. You can golf year round. (0)

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 I visited ross but not duke, and not planning to visit fuqua. It's so expensive. Heard from them last week. I've heard Duke is more competitive, esp with grade disclosure. Is that not the case? Also, seems like employment reports are slightly more positive for Ross in recruiting for consulting? (0)

Anon Likes Earned: 0 My experience visiting and applying to both schools was that Ross is much more insular, whereas Duke was more social...and the students I talked to seemed more self-aware. They're both great programs, but I went with Fuqua because of the community. (0)

@anon below Likes Earned: 0 Um, Ross is more expensive than Fuqua? Not sure how you figured that one unless your instate at Ross and get a tuition break?? Their stats for consulting are about as close as you can get- it's competitive everywhere tho. Picking Ross over Fuqua bc you think it will be less competitive is a false hope ha. It's really a social fit and location preference difference, that is all unless OP wants some specific dual degree offering (0)

Go to Duke Likes Earned: 0 Same rankings and recruiting, better weather and marginally better network and global notoriety due to the slightly better undergrad rankings. Don't get me wrong Michigan is amazing but Duke is an international brand Michigan is not. (0)

Consider the total ROI Likes Earned: 0 I do not think it is wise to base your decision on a 3 or 4k difference in tuition cost. You should be looking at the overall ROI, that amount is trivial in the big picture. Either school with be great, go where you think you will fit. Also, if you have never lived in a winter climate before Ann Arbor could be a rude awakening. (0)

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 got the calls last week. Duke was early last week, Ross was mid week. How to determine better ROI? The employment stats seem to favor Ross but Fuqua traditiionally ranks higher, though I'm not sure why. (this year, us news put Ross higher by one) (0)
