Note:

Grateful that my application is still under consideration. I understand chances of getting off the waitlist are very slim post-R2, but can anyone with direct experience help me understand if chances of getting off the R1 waitlist when R2 decisions come out are higher? Or still just as slim? Thanks so much in advance for any insight.

grichmond Verified User. Likes Earned: 1457 It's really hard to put a percentage on something like this, but I do believe the odds are quite different for R1 waitlisters vs. those waitlisted post-R2. Of course, as you might imagine, HBS has a very high yield, which means they use their waitlist a lot less than most schools.

I would certainly not give up hope; as the school will certainly admit folks from the R1 waitlist in March (when R2 decisions go out). It's going to be a small number, but ideally you fall into that group.

How did you feel about your interview? Also, have you applied elsewhere/worked out a contingency plan?
