Can you please help, without the trolling, which of the following to attend: Georgetown or UNC Kenan Flagler or carnegie mellonTepper or Indiana University Kelley. Small scholarship at Indiana and no $ from the other three.
PostMBA: consulting, i know wont get in MBB from these schools.

Anon Likes Earned: 0 Tepper usually sends a handful of people to PwC and Accenture each year, if that interests you. I'd leave $ out of the equation - unless it's something like 50% or full scholarship, the amount of time it will take you to pay it off vs. no scholarship is relatively small. (0)

To troll or not to troll Likes Earned: 0 Don't believe the hype. You can actually get into MBB from any school even University of Phoenix (no shade, ok only a little). Little known fact is you can also haggle on scholarship as long as you have leverage. The caveat for you though is your GPA is lower than average. Since you're aiming for MBB, money is irrelevant and small scholarship might as well be none. Where will you be happiest? What is most important to you as far as your MBA experience goes? If prestige matters, choose UNC. Keeping in mind, the culture at Tepper is awesome. Full disclosure - I'm going to Wharton. Let us know what you decide. (0)

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 Thank you for the help Hamlet. I dont know, but i always felt in terms of repute perhaps Georgetown does better, no? With respect to rankings UNC comes out on top. I am unaware that I could haggle a scholarship and since I have 4 admits, how would I go about asking one of these places to give me a scholarship? After the letter doesn't mention anything. (0)

Fellow Applicant Likes Earned: 0 I agree with Hamlet -- the scholarship amount is insignificant and you should go where you're heart is. I don't know enough about who is better at consulting (personally not the path for me) but I would assume all these schools pretty much open the same consulting doors. I would chose whichever could see yourself in for 2 years most. If that is Georgetown (and especially if you have personal reasons for doing so) I would go for that. I think Georgetown (again assuming that's where your heart is at) might netotiatw with IU. Once you're within a couple weeks of the deadline deposits I would politely e-mail the adcom and say that while you really want School A, IU offered you some money and while it isn't going to make or break your decision, cost is an important factor. Personally I would err on the side of not being greedy and just give them a number that you would 100% attend it they met. (0)

Anon Likes Earned: 0 Not the one who posted about haggling, but basically you could ask any school that you're admitted to for matching the $ that you receive from elsewhere. Keep in mind that there is no guarantee that a school will match. Regarding which school - the GT brand overall is stronger, but the UNC MBA branding is higher. Subtle difference, but still exists. Keep in mind that the total cost of attendance between the schools are widely different. Personally, I would say UNC to consulting is a solid bet (MBB is tough though, 2nd teir is more doable) (0)

Anonymous Likes Earned: 0 @ fellow applicant, thank you for the detailed clarification. Of these four, my hearts leaning toward Gtown, which oddly is the lowest ranked of these 4. Would Georgetown contact Indiana University to see how much scholarship they have offered me. Do admissions committee/ schools negotiate with each other for applicants? (0)

Anon Likes Earned: 0 Op sorry the burst your bubble but most schools save scholarship money to "buy" the candidates they want. These students would help bolster gmat score, GPA, diversity etc. the fact that you didn't receive aid from any of these similarly ranked programs doesn't bode well for your chances of negotiation. The best case is for them to match Indiana only if they feel that it is an equally regarded program. Most of the time schools will negotiate against competing schools, or if they are trying to sway you from a higher ranked program. Good luck OP (0)

AnotherAnon Likes Earned: 0 Haven't read all the comments below, but I'd say if money is a factor than you can't go wrong with Kelley. Not only does the scholarship help, but cost of living is lowest among your 4 choices. Otherwise, I'd go with the one in the region that you want to settle in post-MBA (Georgetown or Tepper for Northeast US, UNC for Southeast, Kelley for Midwest). (0)

Fellow Applicant Likes Earned: 0 Me again. I don't think that school's call each other and negotiate over candidates. Sure it is possible (especially if you come across as fishy, they may discuss what each other are offering), but you sound like an upstanding guy or gal. Also I wouldn't worry too much about GTown being the lower ranked school in this situation. All these schools are for the most part peers offering about the same career outcomes. Also FYI all these career outcomes are for the most part good. You'll be the top 10% of single income Americans with an average outcome from any of these schools. Congrats! And remember that all things considered these are good options if you want to do a MBA. Again back to negotiating. Yes, the poster was right who said school's typically try to buy candidates they want. However, they also want candidates who really want to be at their school. Try and make a personal connection (maybe during admitted students weekend?) with an Adcom or financial services person and make a sincere case for why you are passionate about GTown and how a little financial help would go a long way. It may not work, but that's your best bet in my opinion. (0)

So i m thinking I will email GTown and ask them to see if they could give some scholarship because i would love to be in DC and work in military and federal consulting. If not, then its the Hoosier state. Since if I am to assess correctly, all 4 of these rank/ repute/ employment outcomes fairly similar (0)
