Rejected from University of Utah after 2 rounds of interview. I don't believe I was rejected due lack of qualifications -- for all I know, it could have been because I am gay (when I mentioned that fact, I could sense a change in the tone of the second interviewer) and Asian.

anon10646 Likes Earned: 778 Utah, specifically SLC, is fairly forward on LTBQ rights (although it's complicated). There is a good Wendover Productions Youtube video called 'Why Utah is So Weird' which breaks down factors. OP, I'm sorry if that was the case. If not already, I suggest looking into ROMBA pre and during your MBA journey. (3)

anon97837 Likes Earned: 4 Thank you. Yes I am indeed applying for ROMBA fellowships at all the schools where it's available. But I didn't see it in my Utah application. Just to be clear, I wasn't passing judgement on the decision or accusing the University of any wrongdoing — I'm glad that at least they rendered the decision quickly (it only took them 1 week), and if indeed I am not a good fit, then I'm glad I dodged a bullet. (2)
