anon11008 Likes Earned: 5 Maybe, but I've seen a lot of rejections with top GPAs/Scores. Also, I just took the EA exam and did well so that would have also contributed. But got the rejection a day before the EA exam. (1)

anon11008 Likes Earned: 5 I have a lower GPA so I think that would be most of it. My background is not super quantitative on paper, but I do have some grad-level quant courses coompleted. No, I didn't work with a consultant. I decided later in the rounds that I was going to apply. I don't think it is because of age - that would be very concerning if it is. My goal is a pivot in career change. (1)

grichmond Verified User. Likes Earned: 1155 With 14 years of work experience, you are a bit of an outlier for a traditional FT MBA. This means that your job is to work hard to 'fit in' in the application process.

How do you do that? By easing the admissions committee's potential concerns when it comes to older candidates (e.g. that they may not have the academic chops to handle a rigorous curriculum, that they may not have feasible career expectations, and that they may not participate in all areas of the program, like ECs).

I can't speak to the feasibility of your goals or to how active you intend to be with clubs in b-school, but if your GPA is low and your GRE comes in light (317 is 10 points below Booth's average of 327) I'd have concerns - especially in the late rounds.

If you reapply, I'd work to mitigate the items above, and I'd apply in R1. Best of luck!
