Hi, I'm an applicant from India. As of 2022 intake, I would have had 4 years of work experience as a developer in Credit Suisse. I have had good projects and accolades to back them up.

In addition, I have contributed very significantly to my firm's 'people initiatives', been a mentor with an education non-profit for 2 years and have a few other hobbies.

I am evaluating the specifics of post-MBA goals. But for now, I would like to work in strategy/ProdMan of a consumer-facing tech company (pref mobility-related like Maps, fitness, transport..).

While you come from an ORM in the applicant pool, there are some promising pieces to your application; GMAT score is solid, work progress sounds impressive, some decent ECs, and you seem to have the beginnings of a post-MBA path mapped out. Of course, the devil is always in the details, so I have a few questions: 1. Did you attend one of the IITs? 2. Where does your 7.6 GPA place you in your undergraduate class? 3. Given the 'back office' nature of your work with Credit Suisse, are there any ways you can demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and your ability to work outside of the technical realm? Overall, I'd recommend first round applications and encourage you keep the same range of schools on your list, even as it narrows (since I presume you won't apply to 11 programs). In other words, what's good about your current list is that it runs the gamut of the top-20 or so. Make sure that balance is retained. Best of luck!

It was really awesome to hear you discuss my profile in the episode (heard it today!). To answer your Qs: 1. No, not an IIT. A good college nonetheless, but not too many alums in these BSchools, so I doubt that it will be a familiar name. 2. 7.6 places me in the first quartile of my class. But how will the adcom know this? Class ranking is not in our transcripts (Is it something I should explicitly mention?) 3. I do have projects where I have taken successful initiatives which I should be able to talk about. And enough teamwork, collaboration stories at work (from what I called 'people initiatives). Will keep in mind the range and retain some 'safety' schools too in my final shortlist.
