Currently a corporate strategy associate at a Fortune 50 consumer goods company with 3 prior years at a Fortune 50 tech company in a similar role. Ultimate passion is the restaurant industry (family business), hoping to use an MBA as a pivot to begin working at a restaurant PE/investment/operations group with the long turn goal of developing and running my own portfolio of restaurants.

Board member of NYC non profit, active at work, just remain unclear if my score is going to cut it for me, and if my story is going to be compelling enough. Nervous to get started!

grichmond Verified User. Likes Earned: 1150 You have an interesting background and planned career path that should help set you apart somewhat. GPA seems very solid assuming a rigorous major and from a solid institution. GMAT feels more average/below average for the schools on your list (especially if you are ORM), so I'd need to know the breakdown/percentiles on each section, and the number of times you've taken the test. This also links up with your GPA and the type of courses you pursued as an undergraduate. For instance, if your GPA comes from a middle of the road major at a middle of the road institution, and you have a weaker quantitative score on the GMAT, there could be some concern... ECs sound promising. Apply early to each program and do your homework in terms of you might use their resources to realize your career plans - while contributing in class, etc. Best of luck!

bluemoonclay Likes Earned: 5 @GRichmond Thanks for your feedback. I was a business major at a top 35 school (US News), not Ivy, but fortunately for me the schools reputation has exploded of late. Took the online Gmat twice, and unfortunately got the same score core.. 40/49 Q/V, with 90th percentile IR and a 6. Might take one more time this summer but want to pivot my focus to applications and try and round out this story. Thanks for feedback (1)

May take one more time, but need to pivot a bit in the mean time as I have a busy summer with apps / a new project ramping up. And yes, will be applying to Colombia ED, that is first choice at this moment. Thank you! (1)
