Notes:

I’m a female, Asian, attorney practicing law: a litigator in public sector defending a state’s interest in civil litigations.

Born and raised mostly in South Korea, but I went to Undergrad and Law school in US: a small state college for undergrad and more prestigious state university for law in Midwest. (Interesting life stories involved during this time frame; one is that I came to US for undergrad to learn English for a couple of years rather than attain a degree from the school, but I fell in love with the small college in a rural area in South and ended up graduating from the school with the plan to go to a law school in US)

Practiced law for the last 3.5 years since graduation: I worked in a private law firm for over a year, then have been working for a state government for over 2 years; I love my role as a litigator - I love legal research, going to courts, and especially oral arguments.

Post MBA plan - consulting and/or business law: I’m very interested in consulting. I would like an opportunity to work with diverse people, non attorneys. Also, as much as I love oral arguments in courts, I would like to broaden my audience. Alternatively, MBA may help me pivot to business, corporate, M&A laws.

Special about today: First time listening to you podcast (and decided to write to you). Also, I got my official GMAT score today !! - the very first GMAT I took, and I received 720 :).

Question: considering that this is my first GMAT attempt, should I try taking another one? I haven’t applied for Round 1 and I’m planning to start applying for R2 (haven’t started any process yet).
-or should I focus writing essays?
FYI - I’m going to apply for pretty much all top 14 MBA programs. I certainly would love to be in top 5, but as long as I could receive generous/preferably full scholarships from T14(Duke or Cornell), I’ll be equally happy.

Lastly, i haven’t invested in any outside work activities since I spent so much outside work time trying to learn to be an attorney as a newbie.
