I live with my husband and 2 young kids 10 mins from Babson (would only cost 23K). I'm 35 and am only looking to use the MBA to pivot into a marketing position for the next 10 years before I scale back. BU is the "Other", $40K remaining in tuition, better program but messy commute. Or we'd reluctantly move for UNC or GU but would return to MA.

anon10646 Likes Earned: 775 What may matter is the level of comp and career trajectory you're on currently and what you'd be seeking, along with your husbands career flexibility to either work out of state or find similar employment in NC/DC for two years. Olin likely will not provide a dramatic acceleration or be great for career switching, so if you're already in a decent role you'd have to consider if you can recover the 2 years of lost income over the 10-year post-MBA period. If you're coming from a lower comp and not looking for a higher prestige/demand post-MBA marketing role and to remain in greater Boston it may be sufficient for your needs. Babson/Olin won't be known far outside the New England-ish area (or Latin American, oddly), but is well known around Boston and I'm not sure there would be much differentiation between there and Questrom for Boston jobs. McDonough or KF will open far more doors and higher comp possibilities than Olin or Questrom can, but you have to decide if you'd pursue those possibilities and if you can amort the extra costs and inconvenience of moving your family twice with those role over 10 years post-MBA.
