Notes:

Choosing from Haas, Booth, Kellogg. All cost about the same and place lots of students in tech. I'm coming from consulting and want to explore options in smaller tech firms, but not opposed to big tech. Haas seems to afford better opportunities, but Booth/Kellogg are ranked higher. Do rankings matter here? How important is being in Bay/Haas alum?

anon25293 Likes Earned: 12 If your goal is to be in SF, I would go to Haas. Recruiting for smaller tech firms will be way easier there as I can't envision the majority of SF-based start-ups are doing on-campus recruiting at Booth. If your post-MBA location is Midwest or East coast, I would go to Booth / Kellogg, as their networks are significantly larger in those regions. (1)

anon97226 Likes Earned: 66 Congrats on the amazing results. I agree with everyone here. Booth and Kellogg are a tier ahead of Haas from a brand perspective; however, if you are wanting to work in the bay area post-MBA that puts Haas on the same tier and if not stronger than Booth and Kellogg. If you really love Booth or Kellogg, I would at least try to reach out to some current second year students who landed internships/jobs in tech in the bay area. Ask them how the recruiting went, the success of classmates, etc. Current students are more transparent than you think! (1)

eliot Verified User. Likes Earned: 1860 I think that all of these top schools would allow you to gain the education, brand and network you need to excel in your post MBA career. Since you want to work for a smaller tech firm, and since smaller tech firms are more likely to recruiting locally, you should factor in what geographic location you want to end up in post MBA. For instance, as poster 25293 said above, if you want to join a tech start up in the Bay Area, then Haas would make it easier for you to network with Bay Area tech firms. However, if you want to join a tech firm in greater Chicago area, then Booth or Kellogg might be a better fit. Best of luck with your decision. (1)

anon25299 Likes Earned: 18 Haas is a clear choice here. If you wanted to focus specifically on BigTech, you could go to Booth or Kellogg. But for smaller tech firms and general bay area recruiting, you can't beat Berkeley brand name or Haas' network. P.S. I would recommend going to Haas with the CBS scholarship and ask them to bump up the $$ (1)

I'm currently on the east coast and I think I'd like to end up on the west coast, but location is less important to me than finding a company and job that interests me. There seems to be more tech companies/roles in the bay but maybe that's changing. Definitely leaning Haas but planning to talk to more 2nd year students! (1)
