Still deciding between Anderson and McCombs. Grew up in SoCal and went to UCLA for undergrad, but have lived in Austin, TX for the last 5 years. Love both cities. Post-MBA, interested in Tech PMM. Looking for hands-on career services and a social life outside of class. Any advice welcome!

anon10646 Likes Earned: 763 Given you're familiar with both you likely know you'll fit with either. Can you start splitting hairs on some factors - UCLA class being a bit larger (360 : 241) do you want a smaller more intimate class? Is there past McCombs MBA+ partner projects or AMRs examples at Anderson you particularly like to do if they come up again? I believe MBA+s can be done as many times as you like, but AMRs are once (could be wrong), So does one big AMR project or a few MBA+s fit your desires more? Big Internet Tech and others (Telsa, Samsung) are moving into Texas, but are there certain companies you have great interest in that will be easier to get from CA or TX? You like LA and Austin, but what about SF or Houston/Dallas? Post-MBA maybe you get a good offer, but it's based out of Dallas. Anderson offer is higher, but cost of attendance is higher, so funding gap smaller on paper. (2)

anon17670 Likes Earned: 318 Congratulations on your acceptance to Anderson and McCombs. I agree with Anon10646 points on creating a list for your decision-making. Both programs are great options for your post-MBA goal, Attending McCombs will be at a lower cost of attendance to you considering you currently reside in Austin. Also, connect with students to confirm you are able to attain the social life at both programs and access a larger network in tech. Have you also considered renegotiating with McCombs with Anderson's offer, I am certain if you want to attend McCombs, they can give you a better offer of at least 70%. Also, McCombs has an amazing career service center ranked very well by students. Best of Luck. (2)

anon22368 Likes Earned: 5 For tech I would generally recommend going with one of the California schools (better connections with Silicon Valley). In tech, specifically, Anderson is up there with Haas and GSB in landing top PM and PMM roles (1)
