Not a bummer to me, I kind of already knew about it after the interview. I interviewed on campus. Personally, I did not feel click to the school. The interview experience was bad, not bad in the way that the interviewer grilled me, but bad in the way that the interviewer did not ask me any in-depth questions. I feel I did not get the respect that I deserved after all the hard work I prepared for the interview. The questions I got during the interview are superficial, for example: Can you tell me about your extracurricular activities? Of course, I answered well, but I was shocked when they asked the questions, didn't the interviewer study my profile? Didn't they read my application? I thought the interview would be an in-depth conversation. But anyway, congrats to everyone who got accepted. I do not want to sound cynical but just want to share my true feelings about my HBS application and interview process. After all, HBS is still a great school. Congrats to everyone who got accepted!

bowside421 Likes Earned: 31 I'm sorry you didn't get in but reading this I can't help but ask: How is that a superficial question? That's a great question to steer the conversation and get in-depth about yourself. (1)

anon11939 Likes Earned: 14 It would be a great question if the interviewer kept digging, but unfortunately, she stayed at the surface level and did not go deeper and expand on the topic. And this is just an example of many of the questions I got asked during the interview. I hope my explanation makes sense. (1)

anon11939 Likes Earned: 14 30 minutes is precious, I would rather she asked me something like "I saw on your resume that you did xxx extracurricular activities, can you tell me xxxx, or why you xxxx" than asking me to waste time (personally I see it as this way) present the FACTS again that are already shown on my application. But it is what it is. (1)

anon11939 Likes Earned: 14 I think the interview process is very personalized. I realize everyone has different feelings towards the interview. I never thought I had a connection with CBS until I interviewed with them, but my friend who interviewed CBS thought the CBS interview was really weird. But do not get me wrong, I think HBS interview is great if it is a BLIND interview, but since I know the interview is not a blind interview, I was expecting more from the bare minimum questions asked by AO. :) (2)

anon10333 Likes Earned: 5 "I saw on your resume that you did xxx extracurricular activities, can you tell me xxxx, or why you xxxx" are softball questions. They're being broad in their questions to allow you the room to give far reaching and unique answers. They needed you to tell your story and get to they "about xyz and why abc" not just list the resume items you have that they already read. It is (was) your job as the interviewee to make even the worst questions a good interview. (2)
