U. Chicago Booth Interview Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Off-campus
The following U. Chicago Booth interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them! I had my interview with a local alum in my home city, and it was held in the conference room of his workplace building. My interviewer was a recent graduate of Booth, so our conversation was pleasantly laid back and very casual. While the interview itself was technically blind (résumé only), he did offer brief feedback on what the admissions readers had mentioned regarding a few aspects of my application. Because my professional background is in a fairly

Duke / Fuqua Interview Report: Early Decision / Second-year Student/ On-Campus
The following Duke / Fuqua interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Decision applicant. Good luck to them! You show up on the admissions floor and sit in groups on the couches with the other people interviewing and a first-year student who you can direct questions to. Then the second-year students who are doing the interview walk over and start grabbing people and bring them into the interview rooms. The interview was very conversational but the interviewer had a structured agenda and made sure to keep to it. Walk me through your résumé

U. Chicago Booth Interview Report: Round 2 / Alumni / Off-campus
The following U. Chicago Booth interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them! My interviewer graduated from Booth in the early 2000s and was from a completely different industry. Nevertheless, there was a lot for us to talk about and the interview was very conversational and lasted for almost an hour. He began by saying that he would take two minutes to review my résumé again and proceeded to circle things that he would later ask me about. He asked me the following questions: – Walk me through your

Northwestern / Kellogg Interview Report: Round 2 / Alumni / Off-Campus
The following Northwestern / Kellogg interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them! Met with an alumni in Toronto, Canada at his office. The interview was blind (the alumni had only seen my résumé). The whole experience was very relaxed. The interviewer had a different style than what I expected. He started at the bottom of my résumé asking about college: How I selected that school, favorite and least favorite classes, teaching method of the school. I did not expect so many college related questions since I have 9 years of work experience. Really tested

Georgetown / McDonough Interview Report: Round 2 / First-year student / On-Campus
The following Georgetown / McDonough interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them! The interview was on campus. I was stuck in traffic and arrived 8 minutes late, I had called ahead as soon as I parked to let them know I was on campus and on my way. The student did not seem too upset but in the long run I think cut down a couple questions he asked due to time constraints. We still had a 35 minute conversation which was very relaxed and conversational. The interview was completely blind. He had not

UT Austin / McCombs Interview Report: Round 2 / Second-year student / On-campus
The following UT Austin / McCombs interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. I interviewed on campus with a very friendly second-year student. It appeared that she had only seen my resume, and nothing was very surprising in the interview. She made it clear that culture is very important at McCombs which is one of the main reasons they have second-year students interview: to preserve the culture. I was asked: – Walk me through your résumé. – What are your short-/long-term goals? – How does an MBA fit into your goals? –

UNC Kenan-Flagler Interview Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Skype
The following UNC Kenan-Flagler interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them! A bit late but sharing the interview experience that I had for UNC Kenan-Flagler. I had my interview on 5th January for round 2 and it was conducted by an adcom. It was, as most of the seniors said, a conversation wherein she tried to understand my motivation to do an MBA, my work-ex and most importantly why at UNC Kenan Flagler. It started of with a 20 + 10 min (20 min for her to know me and

MIT Sloan Interview Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Off-Campus Hub
The following MIT Sloan interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant who was admitted. Congratulations to them! The Admission Director for Sloan Fellows program was the interviewer. Interview lasted 75 min rather than the scheduled 45 min. The interview was more conversational than formal. I had a great and very comfortable interview experience. Interview’s focus was on gauging clarity on my career goals (short vs long term) and seeing the connection between my career objectives and fit with SF program. Additional questions were asked around my essays and around my personal background. I received the acceptance email

Harvard Business School Interview Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On Campus
The following Harvard Business School interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant who was admitted. Congratulations to them! I traveled from Mumbai to Boston for my Harvard Business School interview. There was a full day of activities planned for the interview invites, including a class visit, career center info session, chat with current students, lunch with faculty, campus tour, and others.) I highly recommend that any HBS interview invitees visit campus for the interview, no matter how far away they may have to travel. Just before the interview, we were given a brief

NYU / Stern Interview Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On Campus
The following NYU / Stern interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant who was admitted. Congratulations to them! The interview was on campus when school wasn’t in session (January). It was very quiet around campus, but the admissions office was warm and welcome. Though since school was not in session, there was no option to visit classes or grab lunch with a current student. The adcom was very familiar with my application and drove the interview without needing to review details. It lasted 35-40 minutes, and none of the questions were particularly surprising. She was

Stanford MBA Interview Report: Round 1 / Alumnus / Off-campus
The following Stanford MBA interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. I had mailed the alumna to set up a time and she suggested a star-hotel’s cafe on same week’s Friday morning. I waited for 30 minutes beyond our scheduled time. Had to actually call her – turned out she forgot to set a reminder. As we sat in the quiet cafe, she apologized for being late and explained how the interview would go. She said it’ll be a behavioral interview, that it is blind, and asked for a paper copy of my résumé. She said

Dartmouth / Tuck Interview Report: Early Action / Second-year student / On-campus
The following Dartmouth / Tuck interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Action applicant who was admitted. Congratulations to them! I applied Early Action and interviewed on campus before submitting my application. I highly recommend this, as I was able to incorporate details of my visit into my essays and obviously demonstrate my interest to the Admissions Board. I had a class visit before my interview which I’d also recommend, because it gives you something else to discuss (what did you learn about culture/fit, etc.). My interview was very conversational and straightforward. Huge, huge

Dartmouth / Tuck Interview Report: Round 2 / Second-year student/ On-Campus
The following Dartmouth / Tuck interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. I interviewed with a second-year student via Tuck’s open interview policy. The interview was conducted one-on-one in a small conference room on-campus. I was asked: 1. Did you already have your class visit? Which class/professor? 2. Walk me through your work experience so far. 2a. Offshoot/clarifying question about technology differences in international markets of my industry. 3. Why MBA? 4. Why Tuck? 5. Yale SOM Interview Report: Round 1 / Second-year student / Skype
The following Yale SOM interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! It was an online Skype interview with a second-year student who had not seen my résumé (blind interview). Started off formal as the interviewer explained the timing restrictions (30 minutes) and that he had a few questions he had to cover at the start before I could ask questions. The interview became more free flowing after the initial questions and he really showed an interest in what I was doing. Here are the questions: – Introduce myself.

The following UT Austin / McCombs interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant who was admitted. Congratulations to them! Interview was on campus in the Admissions office with a second-year student. Atmosphere was relaxed and all questions were behavioral. Interviewer had access to my résumé, but was unfamiliar with the other parts of my application. Set questions to go through, but interviewer allowed for questions throughout making the 50 minutes feel more like a conversation. Questions covered: Walk me through your résumé. Why MBA? Why McCombs? Tell me about

Northwestern / Kellogg Interview Report: Round 2 / Second-year student / On campus
The following Northwestern / Kellogg interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them! As most of you know, Kellogg gives everyone an interview. As such, I was able to schedule the interview right after I clicked the “submit” button on my application for Round 2. I elected to travel to campus for an in-person interview, as I had never visited before (very, very glad I did that – the visit was amazing and meeting current students was incredibly helpful). A second-year student interviewed me. That being said, I sat with two other people with interviews

IU / Kelley Interview Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Off-Campus
The following IU / Kelley MBA interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Arrived early and waited in the hotel lobby’s lounge, which was where the interview took place. Interviewer arrived 15 minutes early and asked if we could get started because he had a cancellation. Interview lasted about about 50 minutes because of the early start. Interviewer took notes and mentioned he had only reviewed my résumé. The interview was relaxed and felt like a conversation, rather than an interrogation, and the interviewer asked a lot of follow-up questions, after the standard questions.

The following Northwestern / Kellogg interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them! The interview took place in a coffee shop near her place, about 45 minutes. We met up really early in the morning. The whole conversation was very casual. And the questions were very focused on my work and my goal, but very few questions were actually asked by her. 1. Tell me about yourself. 2. Why MBA? Why Kellogg? 3. What club to join? 4. How will you contribute to Kellogg? 5. What is your goal

The following NYU / Stern interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant who was admitted. Congratulations to them! I interviewed in early December, on campus for Stern. I arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled interview (I did not plan my subway trip timing correctly) and my interview started on time with an Adcom member. She was very friendly and the whole interview felt like a mixture of a job interview and a conversation. The interviewer definitely knows your profile before the interview, I mentioned something that I had brought up in my personal expression essay

I interviewed with a second-year student at Booth’s Harper Center in the Hyde Park campus. The student had the résumé I submitted with my application, but no other information on me. Harvard Business School Interview Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On-campus
The following Harvard Business School interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. I spent weeks preparing for my Harvard Business School interview, but at the end of the day, they’re not lying–you really can’t prepare for it. I mean this in the most complimentary way possible, because I think they do a great job identifying those who have developed a wealth of knowledge on the job and would be a solid contributor to the classroom and community there (rather than an interview prep contest!). Regardless, an overview of my day: HBS sets up a waiting

U. Chicago Booth Interview Report: Round 1/ Second-year student / On-Campus
The following U. Chicago Booth interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant who was admitted. Congratulations to them! When interviewing on campus at Booth, you sit in a waiting area where other 2nd year students come and talk to you about their interview experience while you wait to basically give you tips and make you feel comfortable before going in. Talking to others that went through the process I was going through really did make me feel at ease and made me go into the interview with more confidence. The interview tone was both

Stanford MBA Interview Report: Round 1 / Alumnus / Off-campus
The following Stanford MBA interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. I met with my interviewer in a coffee shop and the interview lasted about 75 minutes. It was extremely conversational and incredibly friendly, the friendliest interview I had out of all schools. The interviewer was weaving in and out from trying to get to know me to probing leadership examples/stories for him to get a sense of my leadership style and how I act in those roles. All my questions were leadership questions related to every single one of my jobs on my résumé. Stanford

I interviewed during Round 1 and chose the option for the off-campus hub in NYC. My interviewer was a member of the admissions committee, and the interview took place in a coffee shop in the lobby of a hotel.
