I arrived 20 minutes early to the alum’s hotel and he was ready. It was a formal atmosphere for me and it lasted approximately 90 minutes. After the brief pleasantries, he asked me to run through my academics starting from high school to my college. The alum then concentrated on my career and interest in IESE. Some questions
- Where exactly was I placed in my class?
- Reasons for choosing a particular university for my college degree and it’s ranking.
- Reason for choosing my job.
- Extra curricular activity.
- Where do I see myself after the MBA?
- Why IESE? Which other schools I have applied? Reasons for choosing them.
- Why not apply to LBS?
- Lot of questions on Motorsports (My interested sport and career stream)
- Have you had any mix culture experience? How was it?
Some structured questions (his own words) where he expected point answers. Rate yourself on a scale of 1-4 (4 being the highest)
- Motivation
- Collaboration
- Spirit to Succeed
- Confidence
- Leadership
- Organization (I rated a little less here and he asked why?)
What are your three Strong Points?
What is your weakness? What are you doing about it?
Which is your top Priority School?
Will you join IESE if offered a seat?
Final Question: How do you justify a seat for you in IESE given your 2 and half-year short experience?
