I interviewed with an alumnus over Zoom for Chicago Booth on February 19, 2026. It was for the Round 2 admissions cycle. The questions asked included:
1. Tell me about your background.
2. Tell me about a time when you had to influence others.
3. Tell me about a time when you failed – how did you react and what did you change?
4. Tell me about a time when you had to manage competing priorities.
5. What are your career goals, both short-term and long-term?
6. Why an MBA now?
7. Why Booth?
Then the interviewer gave me time to ask my own questions.
The interview went as expected. The first section were behavior-type questions looking to learn more about my resume experience. After was about my goals, the MBA, and Booth. I would recommend having a few work-experience stories you can pull from to answer a variety of behavior questions. I also would recommend knowing your story and goals very well. Last, I would recommend researching the school to point to specific items unique to it, and why they appeal to you.
