MIT Sloan Announces Interview Timeline

MITSloanIn a recent blog post, the admissions committee at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management announced that they will begin sending interview invitations to select Round 2 applicants beginning the week of February 15th. Candidates who are not invited to interview will receive a final decision from MIT Sloan by March 6th.

Sloan will be offering interviews on its campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and will hold off-campus interviews in 15 cities in North America, Asia, Europe, and South America. Sloan allows candidates to choose between meeting with admissions representatives in the interview hub closest to their current address, or interviewing on campus. MIT Sloan will announce provide information about specific dates and locations shortly, but has stated that applicants will have at least one week’s notice prior to interviewing.

Sloan uses a behavioral-based interview. The interviewer will likely ask you follow-up questions based on your application, including requesting more details about your academic/professional experiences. The interviewer will also ask you questions to examine your responses to certain situations. MIT Sloan provides an example of this type of question: “describe a situation where you had a conflict with another individual, and how did you deal with it?” Finally, the interviewer will give you a chance to ask if you have any questions for them. For advice on crafting a response to that question, see our recent admissions tip!

Best of luck to all MIT Sloan Round 2 applicants! Remember that Clear Admit offers a range of resources to help you prepare for your Sloan interview, including the Clear Admit MIT Sloan Interview Guide and the MIT Sloan Interview Reports Archive.
