The following Yale SOM interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them!

Had the interview on campus last week and it was conducted by a 2nd year student. Yale plans a full day to give you time to sit in a class, tour the campus and have a Q&A session with an adcom member. These sessions are optional but I would recommend going for the full schedule.

Interview was short and the 2nd year was clearly going off a script. Asked the following:

1. Walk me through your résumé.
2. Tell me about a time when you had a difficult situation at work and how would you had approached it differently?
3. Why the MBA and why now?
4. Why Yale?
5. What classes or clubs excite you most?
6. Is there anything else you would like Yale to know about you?

The interview was done in 15 minutes and we had some Q&A for another 10. Interviewer didn’t show emotion while going through the questions but was very nice once we started the Q&A.
