The MBA Interview Archive: Your Go-To Resource for Round 1 Interviews

To help guide those who will soon be happily on their way to an MBA interview, we wanted to highlight our MBA Interview Archive.

For the unfamiliar, Clear Admit’s MBA Interview Archive is a repository of first-hand accounts shared directly by MBA applicants after they have interviewed with one or more of their target top-tier business schools.

Easy to sort by round or school, the Interview Archive was developed with applicants’ needs in mind. And the details shared in these reports—from the types of questions to expect to what the applicant would do differently if they had to do it over—provide invaluable information to future applicants as they prepare for their own interviews.

For Round 1 applicants gearing up for approaching interviews, this resource is not to be missed. Indeed, numerous applicants over the years have credited their acceptance to their top-choice school in part to insights they gleaned from reports shared here.

Since launching the MBA Interview Archive, we have accrued tens of thousands of interview questions.

The best way to use the archive is to simply filter by school. By printing out and studying a slate of recent reports, you’ll be able to determine a pattern of questions that each school consistently asks applicants. This will help take the “fear of the unknown” out of the equation. A word of caution though: while preparation is critical, over rehearsing your answers won’t work to your advantage.

We are very grateful to those of you who have already submitted to this year’s slate of interview reports, since the archive is only as useful as the quality of the contributions we receive.

We also know that it can be tempting to take advantage of this resource without also taking the time to pay it forward. If you haven’t shared your experiences yet, won’t you please take a moment now to do so?

Not sure what to write? The most helpful and informative reports usually include the following information:

  • Date/admissions round
  • Description of visit and/or interview atmosphere
  • Type of interview (alum vs. adcom, blind vs. application-based)
  • List of interview questions
  • Commentary (What did you think of the interview? What surprised you? What didn’t surprise you? What might you conclude about the school based on this experience?)

Good luck to everyone still waiting for an interview invitation! With LiveWire, you can know the minute schools start sending invites out, and with the Interview Archive you can be ready to wow the admissions committee when your turn rolls around.
