My MBA Interview at Chicago Booth was blind but the student had read my resume and prepared some notes on it. It began with the interviewer giving a short overview of his background and what brought him to Booth and then he asked me to do the same.

He then worked his way through some standard questions of Why Booth, Why now, what are my goals, but they were very conversational and he did a good job of engaging in conversation between each question. Then we discussed topics such as a leadership success and failure, and then how I like to build high performing teams and what I look for in my communication style.

We ended with about 10 minutes for my questions and we spent most of it discussing how the flexible curriculum benefited his experience and how he went about creating it. We then casually talked about the different neighborhoods and buildings that Booth students generally live in north of the campus.

Overall it was a very positive experience and lasted about 40 minutes. Booth even had first year students wandering the halls in the waiting area looking to engage prospective students in conversation to ease any anxiety.
