In this episode of the Clear Admit MBA Admissions Podcast, we take a deep dive into Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), an organization that provides admissions coaching, mentorship and more to MBA applicants who are underrepresented. In their own words, “MLT equips and emboldens high-achieving individuals from underrepresented communities—Black, Latinx, and Native American—to realize their full potential, to make a mark, and make a difference.” We are excited to welcome special guests Maura Clark, Director of Recruitment and Admissions at MLT, and two MBAs who have taken part in MLT’s programming, America Perez Guillen (CBS MBA) and David Harris (Stanford GSB MBA).

Let’s meet our guests before kicking off the episode.

Maura Clark

With over 15 years of higher education experience, Maura Clark has worked closely with students and university partners focusing on academics, admissions, career management and campus life. Maura joined MLT in 2021 in a contract capacity, supporting the recruitment and admission efforts for the organization’s MBA level programs. After a short time, she transitioned to a full-time role as Director of Recruitment and Admissions. Maura oversees the recruitment and admission of pre-MBA candidates to both the MBA Prep and MBA Professional Development programs. This role combines her background and expertise in graduate business admissions and dynamic recruiting. She develops high-impact programming that promotes learning and engagement for MBA candidates.

David Harris

David Harris is currently pursuing an MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he is a Toigo MBA Fellow, GSB Impact Fund investor, and LunaCap Fellow. Prior to the GSB, David served in the United States Air Force as a program manager in the Nuclear Weapons Division managing strategic planning for the $6B long range nuclear cruise missile. Afterwards, he transitioned to the United States Space Force developing satellite software for the intelligence community managing a 125-member and $250M portfolio. Post-MBA, David will work as a private equity associate at Vista Equity Partners, the premiere software investing platform, headquartered in Austin, TX.

America Perez Guillen

America Perez Guillen was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico and raised in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016 and then moved to New York City to launch her professional career with Deloitte Consulting. There, America spent two years in the Human Capital practice and three years in the Mergers & Acquisitions space. After receiving her MBA from Columbia Business School, America returned to Deloitte’s Strategy Consulting offering where she helps clients develop growth strategies. Outside of work, America serves as the founding Board Member and Treasurer for Convivir Colorado, a nonprofit that supports immigrant youth.
