Stanford GSB MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Virtual

I was matched with an interviewer who had a similar background and same geography. This one was way more intense in terms of thoughtfulness of questions. The interviewer tried to challenge each one of my decisions/achievements. There were at least 3 layers of WHYs to everything I said. He was very much interested in understanding the strategic thinking behind any project/initiative I talked about. Asked a lot of behavioural questions and focused a lot on challenges. Call went on 1 hour 15 minutes, it was scheduled for 1 hour. Towards the end, also asked the standard Why MBA, Why GSB, Have you thought of doing an MBA before (my work exp is 8 years) and then gave me enough time to ask ample number of questions even though we were overtime.

Overall it was conversational and friendly, but at the same time there was a lot of probing around my work exp, so be prepared to go really deep into your projects (not really the tactical execution, but how you strategize things).

All the best 🙂
