Why did you make the decision to attend business school? Why now?
I chose business school to build leadership and management skills. I need to expand my impact beyond the classroom. After two years in education, I feel like this is the right time to pivot my career and position myself for broader opportunities.
Why did you choose Michigan State Broad College of Business? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
I chose Broad because of its collaborative culture, strong alumni network, and emphasis on hands-on learning. Growing up on campus, I’ve always loved the environment at Michigan State University and felt a deep connection to the community. As an undergraduate, I experienced firsthand the supportive culture, and returning for my MBA felt like a natural fit. The combination of a familiar, motivating environment and Broad’s strong reputation for career development made it the best choice for me.
What do you think is your most valuable or differentiating contribution to the Class of 2027?
I bring an easygoing and steady presence that helps teams stay grounded, along with leadership skills I developed working in education. I’ve learned how to guide, support, and adapt to the needs of others, which allows me to contribute both as a reliable teammate and as a leader who builds trust and collaboration.

I am interested in pursuing a career in marketing, with a focus on brand strategy and consumer insights. I want to combine my creativity, people skills, and leadership experience to help organizations connect with their audiences and build impactful brands.
Advice for Current Prospective Applicants:
–What is one thing you would absolutely do again as part of your application process?
I would absolutely go through the interview process again. It gave me the chance to share my story in a personal way, and it confirmed that Broad’s supportive and welcoming culture was the right fit for me.
–What is one thing you would change or do differently?
I would give myself more time in the application process. Starting earlier would have reduced stress and given me the chance to polish my essays and reflect more deeply on my goals.
–What is one part you would have skipped if you could—and what helped you get through it?
If I could have skipped one part, it would be speaking on camera during the application. Although it felt unnatural at first, practicing ahead of time made me more comfortable and helped me build the confidence I needed.
