Why did you make the decision to attend business school? Why now?
I decided to pursue business school to intentionally invest in learning, test entrepreneurial ideas, and set myself up for the next chapter. Approaching my 30s felt like the right moment to invest in myself and chart a new direction.
Why did you choose UCLA Anderson? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
I chose Anderson because I wanted to reestablish roots in Southern California and build a strong network in the region where I see my long-term future. I’m also very drawn to the diversity of student interests, with classmates pursuing paths in a wide range of industries, from the typical MBA industries to entertainment and sports. The mix of interests makes the Anderson community particularly inspiring!
What do you think is your most valuable or differentiating contribution to the Class of 2027?
I bring a spark and intensity that energize discussions and challenge people to think differently. I’m realizing that my intensity can be a real strength when balanced with deep listening. My goal is to channel that passion in ways that amplify classmates’ ideas while also pushing conversations forward.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that didn’t get included on your application:
Sports are woven into my everyday life, they keep me energized. I create space in my life to practice soccer, basketball, or golf almost every day. Looking ahead, I plan to share that love by raising soccer players of my own.
Post-MBA career interests:
After my MBA, I hope to shift into consumer tech, working on go-to-market strategy. I am especially excited about the possibilities of AI to shape daily life, from golf to personal health. I want to play a role in making those innovations accessible to people everywhere.
Advice for Current Prospective Applicants:
–What is one thing you would absolutely do again as part of your application process?
Speak with students and alumni. Each school has its own unique vibe. Speaking with students helps you understand the nuances there!
–What is one thing you would change or do differently?
I would have reflected even more deeply. I reflected a lot, but there is always room to get deeper and closer to the root of your intentions. I also would’ve applied to far fewer schools, likely as a result of that deeper reflection.
–What is one part you would have skipped if you could—and what helped you get through it?
The waiting period before acceptance. Luckily, Anderson was earliest to return a decision. During that period, I focused on day-to-day life and not getting too ahead of myself.
What is your initial impression of the UCLA Anderson students/culture/community?
The Anderson community and culture have been extremely refreshing. My classmates are extremely impressive, but very down-to-earth. That was very important to me and I am so excited to continue to grow with my classmates throughout our time at Anderson and beyond.
What student organizations have you joined/are you hoping to join and why?
I am excited to be involved with the Marketing Association, AnderTech, and the Entrepreneur Association!
What is one thing you have learned about UCLA Anderson that has surprised you?
So far, the balanced nature of the class has been great. A range of backgrounds and interests, both personally and professionally.
What is one thing you are most excited about in your first year?
I’m excited for the recruiting process! I am particularly excited to incorporate learnings and growth from courses and business school experiences into interviews.
