Why did you make the decision to attend business school? Why now?
I reached a point where I wanted to move from advising businesses to helping build them. Over the past few years, I deliberately moved closer to strategy, finance, startups and operations. I felt I had learned a lot through experience, but wanted to complement that experience with a broader management toolkit before taking the next step toward entrepreneurship.

Why did you choose ESCP Business School? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
Three things stood out: entrepreneurship, international exposure and people. ESCP’s entrepreneurial ecosystem was a natural fit with my ambition to build a venture, while its European multicampus model felt particularly relevant to someone who has worked across Mexico, the US and Latin America. But ultimately, the conversations I had with students and the culture I experienced during my visits convinced me that ESCP was the right place for me.

What do you think is your most valuable or differentiating contribution to the Class of 2027?
Probably my ability to connect different perspectives. I’ve worked in law firms, banking, fintech, startups and a family-owned business, often sitting between founders, investors, operators and regulators. I enjoy translating between different ways of thinking and turning complicated discussions into practical decisions. Hopefully, I can bring that perspective—and a bit of Latin American energy—to the class.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that didn’t get included on your application:
Years after graduating from high school, I went back to the same school as a high-school law teacher. I ended up teaching students who were not that much younger than me, which was both humbling and a lot of fun. It also taught me that knowing something and being able to explain it clearly are two very different skills.

Post-MBA career interests:
Immediately after the MBA, I’d like to work in strategy, business development or strategy & operations, ideally in fintech or hospitality. Longer term, my goal is to build my own venture—either from scratch or through an entrepreneurial acquisition.

Advice for Current Prospective Applicants:
–What is one thing you would absolutely do again as part of your application process?
Talk to people. Conversations with students and alumni helped me understand ESCP beyond the website and rankings. They also helped me clarify what I actually wanted from an MBA, which ultimately made my application much more authentic.

–What is one thing you would change or do differently?
I would start earlier and focus on getting things done. I spent too much time thinking about how to approach each step, when I eventually realized that the exams, applications and everything else tend to find their way once you simply start. Progress creates clarity. Looking back, I would have trusted that process more and started sooner.

–What is one part you would have skipped if you could—and what helped you get through it?
Probably studying for the GRE and other tests. It was demanding alongside a full-time job, but breaking it into small, consistent goals helped me stay on track.

What is your initial impression of the ESCP students/culture/community?
Very international, but also very approachable. I expected the diversity, but I was pleasantly surprised by how naturally people mix across nationalities, industries and backgrounds. There is a lot of ambition, but it doesn’t feel overly competitive; you get the sense that people genuinely want to learn from each other.

What student organizations have you joined/are you hoping to join and why?
I’m particularly interested in impact-driven student organizations, especially those around entrepreneurship, legal affairs, debate and social impact. These connect naturally with my background and interests, while giving me the opportunity to learn from classmates with very different experiences and contribute beyond the classroom.

What is one thing you have learned about ESCP that has surprised you?
How connected the community feels despite being so international. You meet people who have lived and worked all over the world, but there is still a very strong sense of belonging to the same community.

What is one thing you are most excited about in your first year?
Being a student again and being a beginner again. Most of my career has been in areas where I was expected to know the answer. I’m excited to put myself in situations where I don’t, learn from classmates with completely different backgrounds, and explore ideas that could eventually become a business of my own.
