In this Real Humans: MBA Students, we meet some new members of the Florida Warrington MBA Class of 2028. These students’ backgrounds span healthcare, engineering, nonprofit leadership, insurance, retail, science, and natural resources. Drawn to Warrington’s close-knit culture, strong return on investment, and expansive Gator alumni network, these students are united by a desire to broaden their business expertise while pursuing careers in consulting, strategy, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and finance.
To open the series, Casey G. Hudspeth shares her distinctive background in biological sciences, veterinary medicine, and fisheries research, aiming to transition into corporate sustainability. A lifelong Gator, Hudspeth chose to remain at UF for its affordability, supportive community, and small class environment, where a scientific perspective adds a unique dimension to the cohort. Then, Graham McPhail brings seven years of experience in retail leadership and technology, along with a passion for building teams and fostering collaboration. Returning to his alma mater as a “double Gator,” McPhail hopes to pivot into strategy while contributing emotional intelligence, leadership, and a strong sense of community to the Class of 2028.
We also meet Karissa Adams, who joined Warrington after three years as a medical assistant, seeking to move from patient care into healthcare strategy and consulting. Drawn by the school’s close-knit culture and extensive alumni network, Adams contributes strong communication skills developed through translating complex medical concepts for diverse audiences. Then, Mike Wechlo enters the program following a decade-long career as an actuary across insurance, consulting, and financial services. Looking toward entrepreneurship through acquisition, Wechlo chose Warrington to build a broader leadership toolkit while sharing his analytical and risk management expertise with classmates from a wide range of industries.
After leading youth ministry and nonprofit operations, where he discovered a passion for strategy, program management, and organizational leadership, Nick Lomas transitioned to business school. Motivated by Warrington’s collaborative culture, consulting pipeline, and career resources, Lomas hopes to leverage his people-centered leadership experience in a future consulting career. Finally, Feroz Shah combines mining engineering and corporate development experience with ambitions to bridge technical expertise and commercial leadership in the metals industry. Having previously studied at the University of Florida, Shah selected Warrington for its academic value and career opportunities, bringing an uncommon perspective from the mining and natural resources sector to the classroom as he prepares for a career in commodities trading.
