HBS MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / On-Campus
The interview was relatively straight forward. The Adcom was very warm and honestly enjoyable to talk to. As other interview reflections have mentioned in the past, you are brought up to a waiting room with other candidates and then called in one at a time. Interview questions focused on my career journey, industry, Why HBS?, and a few other resume based questions. Overall, I didn’t stress the prep and just focused on being “me.” I think it went over well and will be happy with the outcome as I put my best foot forward.

Chicago Booth MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumna / Zoom
Interviewed 2/27 with a recent alum from Booth. Entirely resume based. It was a pretty standard Why MBA/Why Booth/Behavioral Questions interview. I had requested an in-person interview with an alum, but I guess there weren’t any available in my large city!! 1. Tell me about yourself. 2. What three words would your coworkers use to describe you? 3. What three words would you use to describe yourself? 4. TMAT you had to work with a group of completely new people. 5. Why Booth? 6. Why Chicago? 7. What are you short-term and long-term career

INSEAD MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / Alumni / Zoom

Ohio State Fisher MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Virtual
Waited 10 mins to realize the interviewer was unable to let me enter the meeting due to a technical glitch. Interview eventually started 25 mins late and lasted 40 mins. Surprisingly a LOT of questions were asked, about 8-9 as far as I remember. Standard questions though. None from resume. No intro. Straight to why MBA, why now, why Ohio? Short term, long term goals? Tell me your leadership style? Give an example where your ideas were challenged. Give an example where there were conflicting KPIs. How important is networking for you in the MBA? Chicago Booth MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
I had opted for an off-campus, but in-person interview in Delhi-NCR region in India, but that was changed to virtual interview. I was matched with a 2nd-year student from Chinese descent, who had done an investment banking intern. She was awesome overall: super kind, comforting and really attentive. The overall interview was for over 50 minutes, with roughly 10 minute for questions and rest was our discussion. The only minor challenge I had was maybe she didn’t have the strongest command on English and didn’t understand some of my statements, but apart from it I felt my interview went really

Chicago Booth MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
My interviewer started by setting a very clear agenda for the 1 hour call (45 min interview + QA) and gave a detailed introduction of his own background. The atmosphere was professional and quickly became conversational. He was taking notes, but maintained strong eye contact and engagement. Questions: Walk me through your resume/Tell me about yourself. Follow-up: What specific skills did you have to learn when you transitioned to…? What were the difficulties? Short-term and long-term goals? Follow-up: pressed slightly on the logic of pivoting and wanted to understand why my post-MBA choice was a necessary step. If you don’t

Chicago Booth MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Off-Campus
The interview was very conversational and friendly — it genuinely felt like we were paired based on shared interests. It was largely resume-driven, with a mix of direct, point-blank questions and behavioral prompts. It lasted a full hour. **Questions asked:** 1. Tell me your story beyond what’s on your resume. 2. What are your short-term and long-term career goals? 3. What types of internships are you targeting? 4. Why pursue an MBA at Booth? How will Booth help you achieve your goals? 5. Yale SOM MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
30-minutes interview. Structured, but less strict than others have reported. Interviewer was very warm and conversational, although we did hit on very structured questions. Questions: Tell me about an accomplishment you’re proud of and why it was meaningful to you. Tell me about a time when you had to resolve a conflict. Why an MBA? (Didn’t get a question about short- and long-term goals, but this may have been because we already covered it. Why is the quote you submitted important to you? How would you contribute to the community? What clubs would you want to be involved with at

Berkeley Haas MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / First-Year Student / Zoom
It was a straightforward behavioral interview with a set of specific questions the student had received from the AdCom. There were no follow-up questions to dig further into my answers. CBS MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Google Meet
Very pleasant and conversational. After a few simple pleasantries, he dove right in and asked me to tell him about myself. The conversation focused almost entirely on my goals, reasons for getting an MBA, and why I specifically wanted to go to CBS. The interviewer asked me no behavioral questions, explaining that in his experience, military applicants always knock those questions out of the park. Instead he focused on how well I had developed my goals and contributions to the Columbia community. Conversation lasted about 45 minutes in total, with the first 30 focused on his questions and the last

Dartmouth Tuck MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
I was interviewed by a second-year student who seemed a bit new to the interviewing game. I felt like there were awkward pauses that I almost had to steer the conversation. She asked typical questions like: Why MBA? Why now? Why tuck? Describe a time when you went above and beyond for someone else. What will you contribute to tuck? Short- and long-term goals? Maybe it was the fact that this was a Zoom interview, but we weren’t really able to connect fundamentally. Maybe this means I’m not a good fit for the school, but isn’t the point of the

Interview was very relaxed. He told me at the start that there were 6 questions he asks everyone and that we would have time to freely chat after that. Questions were 1. Why MBA and why Haas? 2. TMAT you encouraged diversity and equitable opportunities. 3. TMAT you made a positive impact. 4. TMAT you got constructive criticism. 5. TMAT you lead with humility. 6. Do you have anything else you want to add? Was a little bit thrown off that I wasn’t asked the typical “introduce yourself/walk me through your resume,” but the rest

Berkeley Haas MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Student / Virtual
The interview was with an MBA student, very easygoing and friendly. She was great, always trying to show enthusiasm for my answers. She made an effort to keep me comfortable the whole time, emphasizing that it was just a light conversation to get to know me better. The questions were focused on the school’s principles. There was always a little “story” behind them, and then a specific question tied to the principle: – Tell me about yourself (classic, straight to the point). – Tell me about how you challenge the status quo, a situation where you broke away from

UCLA Anderson MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Virtual
The interview was with a second-year student, very calm and friendly. He tried to make me feel comfortable the whole time, emphasizing that it was just a light conversation to get to know me better. On top of that, he gave me lots of advice based on my ambitions and his own experience at UCLA. He was really nice! The questions didn’t stray much from the usual ones: – Tell me about yourself. – Why an MBA and why UCLA? – A leadership story? – Short-term and long-term career goals? – What’s your Plan B?

UCLA Anderson MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
Through the Super Saturday program. Interviewer was reading questions off a sheet of paper, quite basic: Tell me about yourself. Why MBA? Why Anderson? What are your short- and long-term goals? What is your back up plan? A couple behavioral questions: TMAT you persevered through a challenge. TMAT you worked on a team. Only about 20 min of questions and then we chatted about my interviewer’s experience at Anderson for about 10-15 minutes. Not too in-depth, very general interview but was glad to have a good chunk of time to ask questions.

Chicago Booth MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
The interview was pretty long. It started with basic tell me about yourself and then proceeded with ‘tell me about a time’ kind of questions. Few of the questions were as follows: TMAT when you had constructive feedback. TMAT strengths. TMAT leadership and leadership style. TMAT conflict resolution. TMAT you lifted a team. How would your colleagues define you? Weaknesses? Why Booth? Contributions? Goals? My questions were mostly standard, but they were phrased in a complex way and were back-to-back. Very little on resume. The interview was quite long and it was just not ending. The interviewer was quite introverted
