UT Dallas Jindal MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Zoom
UTD Jindal Interview Debrief – Waiver Candidate (15+ Years Exp) The tone was very candid and truthful. The Test Waiver & Other Schools: • They asked about my “Plan B” and the status of my waivers at other schools. • My Response: I was open about the fact that schools like Tuck, Darden, and

MIT Sloan MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Zoom
Really enjoyed speaking to my interviewer, they knew my application inside out and wanted to spend time getting to know me beyond the cover letter. I was nervous about the adcom-style interview going in and thought they would nitpick, but they really just wanted to round out specific parts of my story that the application did not focus on. It was supposed to be 30 min, but we went to 35+. 1. Any updates or changes to application since you last applied? 2. What is your involvement with getting XX (particular type of high-stakes stakeholders that I deal with

Yale SOM MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
30 minutes (surprisingly strict: interviewer recorded the start time and ended it exactly at the 30-min mark) Questions: Tell me about an accomplishment you’re proud of and why it was meaningful to you. Tell me about a time when you had to resolve a conflict. Why is the quote you submitted important to you? Why an MBA? How would you contribute to the Yale SOM community? INSEAD MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Alumni / Off-Campus
I interviewed with both alumni in person given we happened to be in the same city at the time. We met at a coffee shop, both were very casual and friendly. We were required to send in the application and resume to the interviewers ahead of time. The questions are mainly about my career and motivation to pursue and MBA: 1. I read your application, but want you to tell me about yourself again. 2. Why MBA and what are your short-/long-term goals? 3. Why INSEAD? 4. Tell me more about your current role: You switched industry

UPenn Wharton MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
It was a 30 minute group discussion about creating a leadership retreat experience that’s hypothetical. We had 2 second-year students interview us and observe us during the group based discussion, then we broke off individually with each second-year student where they interviewed us for 10 mins. They asked us what our takeaway from the discussion was then asked us behaviorals such as what our proudest work achievement/accomplishment was and how we plan on adding value to the community. What surprised me was how we couldn’t ask questions after the interview, but what didn’t surprise us was how the group discussion

Penn Wharton MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
The group interview had 7 students, and people were friendly, but a bit aggressive in making sure they had speaking time (which was different compared to the multiple mocks I did). The follow up 1:1 interview was with a 2nd year who asked about what I learned from the group interview, any application updates, what I look forward to doing at Wharton, and about my goals. The 2nd year was quite friendly, and this portion felt very conversational.

HBS MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On-Campus
I interviewed on campus for Harvard Business School’s MBA program. There were a number of activities on campus (taking a class, panel of students, etc.), but unfortunately I was working for most of the day and did not get to participate (hoping that doesn’t count against me!). After checking in, was seated in a room with plenty of refreshments (cookies, food, tea, coffee, soda, etc.) before being called upstairs with a group of three other students to sit in a waiting area for a couple minutes. Other students were clearly as nervous as I was, but we chatted and they

UPenn Wharton MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Students / Zoom
I applied to Wharton Round 1 and was invited to do a Zoom TBD with other applicants – we had two second-year students reviewing our session and doing the individual portions. Our TBD group was pretty on-top of it, except our presentation ended about a minute and a half early, which we couldn’t do much about. This year’s prompt was about Leadership Initiative ventures, and our group had a bunch of really creative ideas. All in all, the experience took a full hour and forty minutes, including waiting for my turn for the 1 on 1 portion. As for the

Dartmouth Tuck MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
Beyond the 3 ‘Whys’ (MBA, Now, Tuck), my interviewer was mostly interested in my work experience (what I do at work, achievements I’m proud of, how I serve my community), and asked some questions designed to discreetly assess my preparedness for an MBA program in a rural setting (what I like to do outside of work). I also believe my interviewer was assigned to me as we shared a similar background (worked at same firm pre-MBA), so the common ground helped ease us into the interview. Altogether, very conversational, straightforward, and casual!

The Ohio State Fisher MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Virtual
It was an application-based interview hosted on MS Teams. I was asked the following questions: 1. Walk me through your profile. 2. Why Fisher? What part of the MBA program most interests you? 3. If I were to ask, what would your manager and friends say about you? 4. What kind of challenges do you believe you may face during the program? 5. Can you describe yourself in three adjectives? I believe the interview went great. I was particularly proud of myself when the interviewer said she likes my genuineness because I was simply not regurgitating

Stanford GSB MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Zoom
The interview was on Zoom with a member of the Adcom. She was super kind, set the scene and put me at ease. This included saying that it’s a conversation, that she might interrupt me with follow-up questions to get more context and that she was happy for me to use examples I had already spoken about in my application. She framed the interview as a chance for her to get to know me so she’d be able to advocate for me. Questions: – Tell me about a time when you were effective? (lots of follow up questions)

Very conversational. Interviewer was getting to know me as a person and seemed interested in seeing my personality come out. Ended with Q&A where I asked questions and just had natural conversation. HBS MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On Campus
I traveled to the campus, and would recommend everyone do so as well. Fellow interviewees attended class sessions and there were info sessions on interview day. 10 minutes before, a group of us were called and we went up to 1:1 rooms with our interviewers. The interviewer was very warm and had read my application in detail. She asked about my upbringing, my work experience, and my hobbies. It was more conversational than I expected.

UPenn Wharton MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Virtual
I was placed in an interview room with 5 other candidates. Our first question was our intended major at Wharton. We then pitched our ideas given our TBD prompt and were given 25 minutes to brainstorm and 5 minutes to present. Our team managed to pull off the presentation, but there was confusion over budget and logistics that were unresolved. We then were in a waiting room where we spoke to one another until it was our turn for a 1:1 with the adcom. Questions such as “tell me about yourself,” “time you took initiative,” and “biggest weakness” came up.

Duke Fuqua MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
My Duke Fuqua interview took place on campus with a second-year MBA student. The interview lasted an hour and followed a structured, but conversational flow. The first few minutes were for introductions, followed by roughly 40 minutes of formal questions and 15 minutes for questions of my own. The interview was held in a small, quiet room, which initially felt a bit sterile, but the tone quickly shifted once we began talking. The interviewer started with some light small talk before diving into multi-part questions, often two- or three-part prompts that required thoughtful pacing to answer clearly. The first question
