Note:

The interviewer kind of hinted I would be rejected or waitlist in the end of the meeting. Could feel the negativity from him in the when I received his email. He seems not to be grateful about or satisfied with his Ross experience. Don’t know why he volunteered to interview for the school. The result could be exactly the same if I was interviewed by someone else. But I have to say this alum showed me a poor image of Ross even if I was accepted. Well, that’s the way it is. Congratulations to all the folks who made it.

Note:

To all of you rejected today. Understand that this is the best thing that could have happened to you. The student body is made up of a significant portion of anti Jewish bigots that declared war on the campus. It’s also a school that’s always been second tier even before this invasion. Go to the gym, make yourself smarter, and go get what you want without an MBA. You don’t need an MBA so start a business or get a job. If you are truly elite, opportunities come. If you must get an MBA, do the work to get into HBS or Stanford but even that isn’t by itself going to do it for you. Good luck and god bless!

Round: Round 1

GPA: 3.41
GMAT: 710
Program Type: Traditional Two-Year
Post MBA Career Name: Consulting
Application Location: USA
Note:

An incredibly disappointing result. I was waitlisted in December after a Round 1 interview. Over the last 5 months I sent in 4 letters of continued interest, which mentioned the following:

1. Took a GRE exam to replace my low-ish GMAT score
2. Received a promotion at work
3. Did a campus tour and classroom visit, plus attended a few additional online events
4. Sent in an additional LoR
5. Talked about speaking with three current students who were also waitlisted
6. Aced a pretty common pre-MBA math class
7. Provided updates on personal achievements and volunteer/charity work
8. Consistently emphasized that CBS was my top choice and expressed my commitment to attend if accepted

At least I can go out saying I did every single possible thing I believe I could have done to get off the waitlist. Regardless, frustrating to think that all of this wasn't enough.

Question about All Schools

Hi! Any tips on how to get a good credit card (for travelling perks!) as an international student without credit history in the USA? I have decent savings and will not take student loans and could transfer if needed and also a fantastic credit score but my country is in the middle of nowhere. I am attending H/S/W in case that is a factor too. Thanks for the tips!

Question about All Schools

Hi all! Applied to M7 - T20. I got into Ross, Georgetown, and Tepper. Unfortunately I’m not a good test taker and couldn’t get a great gmat. I am still excited about the offers but my boyfriend who works at a hedge fund and went to Harvard undergrad said those MBAs aren’t respected/ don’t have “prestige” and says Im wasting my time. He says they don’t care that much about MBAs and if they hire, it’s usually only HSW. Im not as smart as him to get into ivy schools but also am not set on finance. I’m more interested in consulting. Is he right?
