Vanderbilt / Owen MBA Interview Questions Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Skype

The following Vanderbilt / Owen MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them!

I had a Skype interview with an Admissions Director. She called me promptly at the designated time, not a minute later. These are the questions I remember being asked:

What are your post-MBA plans after graduation?
Why Owen?
If you have 60 seconds to present yourself to a potential employer, what would you say?
What are some skill areas you have to strengthen with an MBA?
What can you contribute to your peers in a small group setting?
What do you hope to learn from your peers?

I was a bit surprised by how few questions she asked me, and I thought I was totally bombing it, but now that I look back on it there were six questions, which is decent. She was taking notes the whole time.

I then asked her a bunch of questions about the program and about Nashville. All together the interview was exactly 30 minutes.

I definitely got the vibe that Owen is really looking for the right “fit” to mesh with their community…which is awesome! Fingers crossed I hear good news in December.
