The following Harvard Business School (HBS) interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them!

I had the HBS interview in a hub city. The interviewer is an alum and an admission committee member. The interviewer was very friendly and made sure that I felt comfortable. He has read through my application before.

Questions:

Why did you go to your college?
How would you evaluate your manager, and what are the key qualities that you would use as measures?
What do you know about the case study method?
If you had time before HBS and can shadow anyone in the world, who would you shadow, which organization would you pick and where would it be?

The questions were all quite out of the box. The interviewer probed into something I wrote in the essay. I would suggest that interviewees really know their stories inside out. You need to be able to explain your motivations. It seems HBS cares a lot about the “why” in each question.

Overall it was a great experience. I think it solidified my interests in HBS as a place that focuses on the long-term instead of just the job 2 years after the MBA experience.
