The following UPenn / Wharton interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them!

My team-based discussion interview was at 3:30 but I arrived on-campus at around 12pm. This gave me the time to have lunch with students and join in a class. It really enabled my to get a better flavor of the school.

The team discussion went through more smoothly than I expected. It was helpful to arrive early and to chit-chat with other people. Many of the people I talked to ended up in the same group as me so it was helpful to learn a bit about them beforehand. Everyone prepared a prompt of 1 minute. Some people went significantly overtime. No one was overly aggressive and I liked the fact that we incorporated pieces of everyone’s idea.

It would be helpful to keep track of the time and make sure everyone is assigned a role in the final presentation. Afterwards, the 10-minute interview went quickly. Those seemed to be blind ones by current students. Some of the people said they were only asked about the team discussion and not their resume. It might be a bad sign there. I was asked about the discussion, why Wharton, what’s my career goal, which clubs would I join at Wharton.

Overall, the experience was very positive. It changed some stereotypes I had about Wharton before that day. Students are genuinely nice. When I visited the class, students around me all introduced themselves and were friendly. It seems that Wharton is extremely focused on the quality of student experience despite the huge class size. I can see myself spending two years there after this experience.
