Building Prioritizes Design Spaces, Flexible Teaching Spaces
Entrance to the Galvin Family Design Wing, 7,800 square feet of flexible classroom and studio space built to foster innovation.The Artist-in-Residence Room, one of four design studios in the Galvin Family Design Wing, allows artists, architects and designers to come in and work with students on real-life projects.A “Maker’s Space,” another of the four design studios, complete with 3-D printer and arts and craft materials for prototyping.One of two 70-seat, 1,800-square-foot flat classroom spaces equipped with advance technology including cameras and ceiling microphones; partitions can be removed to create an even larger space suitable for conferences. In addition to this flexible space, the building is home to seven 50-person flat classrooms and seven 60-person tiered classrooms, providing added flexibility for evolving teaching styles.One of seven tiered classrooms, ideal for lectures and presentations. Microphones at every seat connect to lecture-capture technology. Some classrooms feature CiscoTelePresence to allow for live global collaboration.
