Description / location of visit and/or interview atmosphere: 9:45 am Interview seem to be the right time as the interviewer had the chance to warm up from the first interview at 9:00am. There are about 50 other prospective students interviewing during the same day, interview run every 45 mins. From 9:00 am to 3:30pm. Each interview takes place in “interview rooms”, on the first floor, and each section has about 10 students interviewing at the same time, each one-on-one with a second year-year student.

Type of interview: The interviewer was a second year student that mentioned early in the interview that she only had access to my resume and so that I should not feel offended if she asks questions on subjects that I have already mentioned somewhere else in my application. The interviewer has a list of questions with open boxes to write comments as I was answering her questions, there were a total of +/-10Q.

Interview Questions

  1. What are you doing in your current position?
  2. Why and MBA? Why now?
  3. How can you contribute to Yale SOM?
  4. Tell me about one of your biggest contribution?
  5. Tell me about one event when you failed? What did you learn from it?
  6. What clubs are you interested in joining while at SOM?
  7. Do you have any questions for me (5 min remaining)

I was very comfortable during the interview, I have yet to receive any decision, being a wait listed application I did not see any variance during the interview process as any other Round applicant. I wish there was an admissions person during the interview.
