I interviewed on February 15, 2020. Despite single-digit temperatures, the visit was very pleasant. The Ross admissions team did a great job of welcoming us in, creating a supportive and positive atmosphere, and structuring an entire day for us. I came in on a Saturday, and they had several second-year students come in and speak to us and provide tons of valuable information. At the end of the day, they even had a professor perform a mock class on game theory. The class was actually very engaging and entertaining.

The interview itself was with a second-year student and was very conversational. It lasted about 45 minutes, the last 5-10 minutes left for me to ask him questions. The interviewer had a somewhat similar background (we both work in finance but different industries). The questions were as follows:

  • Story of how you ended up at my current company in my current role
  • Why an MBA
  • My goals
  • How Ross will help me achieve my goals
  • My weakness
  • Tell me about a time I completely failed on a project at work

He made it clear that was he was going to transition to behavioral questions after going through the typical MBA questions in the beginning. Again, it was very conversational, my interviewer was receptive, and it felt very natural overall. I have not received any notice about their decision on my candidacy.
