Stanford GSB Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Alumna / Zoom

It seems like they run a pretty personal interview-matching process, where I got matched to an alumna who was female, was in the same pre-MBA industry (banking), and currently works in my target post-MBA industry (media).

Interviewer only had my CV.

Overall very relaxed, was more of a conversation rather than interview.

Started quite naturally given the parallels between our experiences: on my background, why I decided to go into banking, why I want to go into media, why MBA.

More structured questions included:
– Tell me about a time when you put forward an initiative that aimed to improve something in your team.
– Tell me about a time when something you wanted to put forward got blocked or failed.
– Tell me about a time when you initiated something that changed the strategy or thinking of your team.
– Had 20 mins out of an hour for my questions to her.
