Why did you make the decision to attend business school? Why now?
My experience at SAP gave me a strong foundation in managing complex projects, leading global teams, and delivering high-impact value to clients spread across many geographies and industries. It was during this stint that I realized I wanted to transition from execution to being in the driver’s seat and shaping operations, product, or business strategy. Simon Business School provided me with an excellent opportunity to pivot and enhance my understanding of leadership, strategy, and broader business fundamentals at a time when I was feeling confident in my ability to take the next step in my professional journey.
Why did you choose Rochester Simon? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
I chose Simon for its data-driven, quant-heavy, and analytical approach that directly supports my goal of building a career in strategy and operations. The smaller class size promised a close-knit, collaborative community where I could form meaningful connections, while the STEM-designated MBA assured me a rigorous, future-focused curriculum. Finally, the school’s reputation for placing graduates in consulting and operations roles, supported by a highly engaged alumni network, gave me confidence that Simon would be the right launchpad for my post-MBA career.
What do you think is your most valuable or differentiating contribution to the Class of 2027?
I believe I can leverage my 4.5 years of international work experience as an asset for my entire cohort. Acting as a bridge between executives, engineers, partners, and clients from around the globe taught me how to translate complex challenges into structured solutions while navigating diverse cultural contexts. Beyond professional experience, I thrive on collaboration and know how to create space for different viewpoints—something I believe will enrich the learning environment for the Class of 2027.

Advice for Current Prospective Applicants:
–What is one thing you would absolutely do again as part of your application process?
Do the optional video essay! It is a great confidence booster, and it helps the admissions team to know you beyond just your resume and written application materials.
–What is one thing you would change or do differently?
I would connect with current Simon MBA students more to get insights into how to best manage my time and schedule commitments in my calendar. The Simon MBA program is engaging and fun, but also rigorous, and managing academics with recruiting and networking events, clubs, and self-care can get quite overwhelming at first. My first month at Simon taught me that if something isn’t on my calendar, it simply isn’t getting done!
–What is one part you would have skipped if you could—and what helped you get through it?
I feel that Simon takes a holistic approach when it comes to evaluating candidates, and for that reason, no part of the application felt redundant to me. I cannot stress enough the value of submitting the optional video essay—it really helps add another dimension to your profile.
What is your initial impression of the Rochester Simon students/culture/community?
My initial impression of Simon has been how genuinely supportive and approachable the community is. From current students and alumni, who took the time to share candid advice during the application process, to classmates who are quick to collaborate and celebrate each other’s wins, it’s clear that Simon cultivates a culture where everyone rises together. The smaller class size makes those connections feel even more personal, and I already feel like I’m part of a tight-knit group that looks out for one another.
What student organizations have you joined/are you hoping to join and why?
I am really interested in getting involved with Simon Vision Consulting, and Simon Net Impact Club. With Simon Vision Consulting, I would love to be part of a dynamic student-led group, solving real-world problems for real local businesses through data-driven solutions and actionable strategies. With Simon Net Impact, I hope to build strong partnerships and bring positive and sustainable change in the local Rochester community.
What is one thing you have learned about Rochester Simon that has surprised you?
I was surprised by how intentionally Simon weaves analytics and real-world scenarios into every part of the curriculum, from marketing to leadership—building a mindset that makes experience and data central to decision-making across all functions. I also didn’t expect Simon to lean into GenAI, but many courses have integrated it thoughtfully, using ethical applications to strengthen, not replace, the learning experience.
What is one thing you are most excited about in your first year?
I’m most excited about diving into Simon’s curriculum and applying it to real-world business challenges, perhaps at Simon Vision Consulting! Beyond the classroom, I’m looking forward to collaborating closely with classmates on team projects, learning from their diverse perspectives, and building the strong professional and personal network that Simon is known for.
