Why did you make the decision to attend business school? Why now?
I decided to pursue business school because it is the best way to gain a broad and structured understanding of how businesses operate while sharpening my leadership, critical thinking, and analytical skills. The timing is right because I want to build on my professional experience with new perspectives from peers across diverse industries and backgrounds, which will enrich my learning and prepare me to take on more complex challenges in my career.
Why did you choose Indiana Kelley? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
I chose Kelley because several factors stood out to me. First, it is a well-respected and consistently ranked program with a strong reputation for developing leaders. What impressed me most, however, was the sense of community and support that defines the school. Kelley alumni are known not only for their professional excellence but also for being supportive, values-driven people who care about making a positive impact.
For me, leadership is about more than technical expertise, it’s about leading people with empathy, collaboration, and integrity. Kelley’s culture combines rigorous professional training with an emphasis on character and community, which I believe creates the most effective leaders.
Another important factor was class size. I wanted an environment where I could truly connect with my peers, learn from their diverse perspectives and backgrounds, and build lifelong relationships. Kelley’s smaller, tight-knit community felt like the right place for me to grow both personally and professionally.
What do you think is your most valuable or differentiating contribution to the Class of 2027?
I believe my most valuable contribution is my international leadership experience in fast-paced organizations. I’ve managed diverse, cross-functional teams and built strong relationships with clients across different industries. This allows me to bring a global perspective and practical insights from the real world, which I can share to complement and enrich the learning experience of my classmates.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that didn’t get included on your application:
A fun fact about me is that I’ve been part of dance groups since I was little. Dance has always been my favorite way to express myself and feel happy. I also love music, it’s a constant in my life, whether I’m relaxing or staying focused to get things done.

Advice for Current Prospective Applicants:
–What is one thing you would absolutely do again as part of your application process?
One thing I would absolutely do again is connect with second-year students and staff early in the process. Those conversations gave me a real sense of the culture, the support system, and what life at Kelley is truly like. I’d also recommend doing at least one immersion or campus visit, it’s the best way to see if you can picture yourself thriving in the school’s environment.
–What is one thing you would change or do differently?
If I could change one thing, I would start earlier with the application process, especially with essays, exams, and other requirements. Giving myself more time would have reduced stress and allowed me to refine my story even further.
–What is one part you would have skipped if you could—and what helped you get through it?
If I could have skipped one part, it would have been writing and rewriting the essays. It was challenging to condense years of professional and personal experiences into a few pages while still making my story authentic and compelling. What helped me get through it was feedback from mentors, second-year students, and peers who encouraged me to keep refining until my voice came through clearly. That process taught me the value of vulnerability and clarity, and in the end it made my application, and me stronger.
What is your initial impression of the Indiana Kelley students/culture/community?
My initial impression of Kelley is that it’s a genuinely supportive community. Students and staff truly care about your success and go out of their way to share experiences, offer guidance, and help you along your journey. It feels like an environment where collaboration and encouragement are part of the culture.
What student organizations have you joined/are you hoping to join and why?
I have joined the Finance and Investment Club, the Women’s Club, and the Latino Club. These organizations align with both my career goals and my personal values. They allow me to deepen my technical and professional knowledge while also engaging with communities I’m passionate about supporting and representing.
What is one thing you have learned about Indiana Kelley that has surprised you?
One thing that surprised me was how strong and responsive the Kelley network is. Even before starting the program, alumni and second-years were generous with their time, advice, and connections. It really showed me that the culture of support doesn’t stop at graduation—it’s something that continues long term.
What is one thing you are most excited about in your first year?
I’m most excited about getting to know my classmates and learning from their diverse experiences. I’m also looking forward to the challenge of case work and presentations, since they will push me to sharpen my skills and grow both academically and professionally.
