Why did you make the decision to attend business school? Why now?
I came back to school to pivot into brand marketing and strategy. After four years at a media agency, I wanted to get closer to where marketing decisions were being made. Getting an MBA will help me build a toolkit to be an effective brand marketer.
Why did you choose Notre Dame Mendoza? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
Mendoza’s mission to Grow the Good in Business is what drew me in. The program is built around using business as a force for good in the world and that vision can be felt in the community here on campus. The small program size and customizable curriculum made Mendoza a great option for me.
What do you think is your most valuable or differentiating contribution to the Class of 2027?
My background/network has been helpful to share with my peers interested in tapping into the sports industry.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that didn’t get included on your application:
I love boating and water sports – my first job was coaching wake surfing!
Post-MBA career interests:
Secure a role in brand management or marketing strategy.
Advice for Current Prospective Applicants:
–What is one thing you would absolutely do again as part of your application process?
I found a lot of value in engaging with the Notre Dame admissions team. I came to campus, met admissions for coffee chats in Chicago, and attended webinars to express my interest in Mendoza and gain a strong understanding of what they were looking for in applicants.
–What is one thing you would change or do differently?
Looking back, it would’ve been helpful to connect with a second-year student before coming to campus just to get a lay of the land and hear some tips before things kicked off in August.
–What is one part you would have skipped if you could—and what helped you get through it?
I would’ve loved to skip studying and taking the GRE/GMAT. I found it helpful to set small, attainable goals throughout the process to help keep myself motivated.
What is your initial impression of the Notre Dame Mendoza students/culture/community?
The Mendoza community has been welcoming since the first day of orientation.
The programming and structure in our first months on campus was very intentional – it made us comfortable and fostered strong relationships within our cohort.
What student organizations have you joined/are you hoping to join and why?
I’ve joined Women in Business, the Marketing Club, and the Sports Business Club because they align with my experience and career goals. Joining these clubs has helped me build a strong network here on campus.
What is one thing you have learned about Notre Dame Mendoza that has surprised you?
The ability that students have to make an impact on the program. Our voices are heard and respected by the leaders of our program.
What is one thing you are most excited about in your first year?
I am super excited for our Spring Grow Irish week where I will be traveling to Galway, Ireland with my team to work on a week-long consulting project.
