Harvard MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Rd 2 / on campus / adcom / Admitted

Adcom was very game-faced – polite, but businesslike. Interview was 30 min exactly. She didn’t want my updated resume and told me at the outset that we had exactly 30 minutes, and not to feel bad if I was frequently interrupted. She did interrupt maybe 3 or 4 times. Preparation was useful, but there would have been no way to prepare for the hard “off the cuff” questions that she asked. Here are my questions/answers (no particular order)

  1. Name a CEO you admire:
  2. Asked me to explain a bit more about what my role at work.
  3. Asked if the power-sharing structure of my work group ever caused conflict, and what I did about it.
  4. Specific question about my essay – on a minute detail and no way I could have prepared for it.
  5. Another essay-specific question.
  6. Asked how I advanced quickly at my corporation
  7. What will be my biggest challenge at HBS.

No time to ask any questions. Overall, I felt good about it, but this was more because I felt confident that my answers were solid than any inidication given from the adcom.
