Texas McCombs conducts optional peer interviews as part of their admissions process.

The interview was very laid back and straightforward – Super casual to begin where we discussed a bit about our backgrounds, current work, and current locations. We then started through the traditional questioning:

  • Tell me a bit about yourself.
  • Why do you want an MBA?
  • Why this program? / How does an MBA from this school fit into your professional trajectory?
  • Tell me about a time when you encountered a challenge / failed on a project.
  • Tell me about a time when you went above and beyond for a client/project.
  • What clubs, activities, or campus resources are you interested in getting involved with?
  • Anything else you’d like to discuss or share with the admissions committee?
  • Any questions for me?

Overall very straightforward and what I had expected. The student was super nice and the interview was super conversational.
