Round 2 Update from Harvard Business School Admissions

As Harvard Business School (HBS) Admissions prepares to close for the holiday season, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid Dee Leopold shared some updates and reminders for Round 2 applicants working toward the January 6th Round 2 deadline.

All offices at HBS will be closed from tomorrow, Tuesday, December 24th, through Wednesday, January 1st, re-opening at 9 a.m. EST on Thursday, January 2nd, Leopold shared in a post to her From the Admissions Director’s Blog.

Round 2 applicants with questions between now and then can contact the Admissions Office via email. If you have general application questions, email [email protected]; for technical support for the online application, email [email protected]. “We’ll be responding to email only during the break,” she wrote, warning that response time may be longer than during normal business hours.

Leopold’s office will provide additional telephone support the weekend prior to the Round 2 deadline. They will accept calls between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (EST) on Saturday, January 4th, and between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, January 5th.

In an effort to head off some of the most frequently asked questions at the pass, Leopold offered the following reminders:

  • GMAT/GRE test scores must be submitted by January 6th in order for your application to be considered as part of Round 2. Applicants who submit scores after January 6th will be moved to Round 3.
  • Applicants with questions regarding the TOEFL/IELTS/PTE section are reminded to please read the written application page of the HBS website for more information.
  • HBS does not offer application fee waivers of any kind.

In a subsequent blog post, Leopold also reminded prospective applicants thinking of visiting HBS over the winter break that the campus will likewise be closed through December 24th through January 1st. From January 2nd-27th, tours and information sessions will be available on Mondays and Fridays at 1:15, led by MBA admissions staff. Students will resume leading tours on January 27th, and class visits will also resume at the end of January. “You will need to sign up to visit a class and you can do that now,” Leopold wrote.

That’s it. Best of luck from those of us at Clear Admit to all of you working hard to finish up those Round 2 applications!
